I love how they Avoid the Fact that its a Freaking Ship of the Line that could Easily Massacre the two Minor Frigates on both Sides by having the Captain be an Idiot that Refuses to Order the Ship to Fire.

In terms of Military Power he could Simply have Open Fire with a Pointed Barrage on both Broadsides and Sink both Enemy Ships at Once. As the Small Frigates of Jack and Will would never be Capable of Withstanding a Ship of the Lines Broadside on this kind of Range.

Both these ships are technically immortal in this situation (Black Pearl and the Dutchman) The Dutchman for obvious reasons, and then the Pearl and crew can literally be raised from the depths by the Dutchmans captain. Which would be Will, their obvious ally. Beckett knew he was done for no matter which way you slice it. When those ships turned towards him, that showed that Beckett wasn't as smart as he thought he was.

If Beckett hadn't frozen in the end, all 3 ships would have been very dead.

looking back at this.. logically, the Endeavor, being a Man-O-War, had more than enough firepower to destroy both ships

The reason wht Beckett defeated

1) Didnt killJack Sparrow when he had the chance even if he knew Jack is clever

2) Putting Davy jones heart inside the Flying Dutchman so that the control of the Flying Dutchman could be taken away

3) underestimating Black Pearl who sank the Flying Dutchman in the storm and attack it alone

Pearl and Dutchmen would of had to approach in a line instead of on either side, that way you neutralize half of the Endeavor's guns

I still find it ridiculous that Beckett didn't order them to fire. He still could have shredded the Pearl and killed half the crew and heavily damaged the Dutchman rendering it combat ineffective...

I was always a little disappointed that we never got to see the Endeavor in action. It would've been epic to see all those cannons fire and obliterate something.

And it's unbelievable that 20 years since first film of the series, it's still a masterclass that not many modern movies come even close.

Usually, a ship of the line vs two frigates does go this well in favor of the smaller ships.

One thing I hate about Pirates Of Caribbean is that, they set the bar of pirate movies too high back in 2010s and now there wont be a pirate movie that will overthrone it. And because of that noone even bothers to try to make a pirate movie.
