Great video. Appreciate the content. However, just an FYI to everyone still coming to this video. There is a serious bug with Tails right now. It will not go full screen no matter what the settings in VirtualBox. I have Kali, Ubuntu, etc. on my VM, and all display full screen no problem. Tails does not. If ever this gets solved I'll come back and post. If anyone has a fix, please comment. Thanks.

Plus every time I try to run from the usb boot shows me the first menu and after I enter apears a shitie grafic mesc and reboots automaticly an I did every recomendation for troblems in the tails site and I have a modern PC

Mr here is all wrong my virtual box only let me create virtual machines in Linux 32 bin and not even apears anithin in 64 bit, in does not let me change the number of processors and when i try to find the iso file just like you show it does not apear... and my computer as the windows 10 64 bit

I receive two errors
1. Not in a hypervisor partition
2. AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS

So I'm looking at some kind of mini form factor pc 'box' to run tails from. Don't need it for anything else really as plan to build a decent mini ITX or even just a powerful android box as it's literal purpose would he just YT, browsing on sites i have accounts etc.
Firstly any advice for decent password creator/manager?

And as for my 'Tails OS' machine, I'm just wondering if you can give me specific details or link me to a laptop/mini pc (NUC style) etc.
There's so much conflicting info on what on board graphics work etc. Id like for either 8 or 12gb ram a 64/128gb SSD and the best value cpu.
Looking at around £300/£350..
So $420/$380.
Even if its used im not fussed. Just so confused. Got my new full fibre connected tomorrow (well today now) so wanna get up and secure ASAP.

My Tails view did not adjust automatically like yours did. How do I make it full screen? Tried to do the whole guest additions but received an error.

Maybe you should rename the vid. Cause as you explained yo cannot install tails on HD/SDD. You just make it runnable from VBox.

its funny you have to go through all theses steps just for basic privacy, its not illegal but it feels like it. (not saying that installing virtual box and tails is hard)

for some reason when i start tails, i get the language screen to pop up but it takes longer for it to load and when i press next i get a black screen and nothing happens

Another way is to launch a Tails USB drive that was created in the manner specified by Tails. After having used an app like Etcher to create the Tails USB, you can launch the USB from a VirtualBox VM by assigning the USB drive to virtual USB port. No storage devices are needed in the VM since the USB drive is the only storage device needed. The boot process depends on turning on the EFI switch in the VM and booting using UEFI. What's the utility in doing this? 1 - the persistent volume and it's contents would be available to the VM from the USB drive if you created one; 2 - you can control network connections using your host PC (including running Tor through a VPN if desired); 3 - one can use the host PC and Tails at the same time (install macchanger to randomize your host machine's MAC address if connecting away from your home network); 4 - you can share folders to Tails in the same manner you would in VirtualBox for other VMs, if desired; probably more reasons that escape me at the moment.
