The reason why the wolves killed you so quick is because they were doing bone damage to your head. The characters head in dayz only has 33 bone health and the wolves mainly hit your head so you have to be careful when fighting them.

From what i can tell from your vids you are the kind of ppl i always wanted to play with, yet never found... it's always either toxic tryhards or ppl without mic... i'm don't have tons of hours on dayz (i have't crossed the 1k yet), but i know my way around a bit not to get lost... still for most that's not enough unless you rush spawns then rush mil then go kill spawn.

I am playing a bit more official lately but am always conscious of staying dry and free from illness, would anyone suggest I relax on this an make health less of a priority. After watching these videos it seems to make more sense now to get stuff done.

My Cave base lasted about a week! Shoes were the biggest issue though, almost need a new pair every time you visit the base 😂
