There's a lot to unpack in this video and it took a long time to make, but I hope it answered some questions or was at least fun to watch
ОтветитьSo basically the more armor the shell goes though, the deadlier the after penetration effect is, but if there’s too much armor then the shell shatters and has little effect on the crew
ОтветитьHow does APHE fuse work?
ОтветитьWait, what do you mean it doesn't nuke the inside of the tank?
-WT players
what program is that
ОтветитьHonestly, this video is genuinely good
ОтветитьSEE GAIJIN? SEE? ITS A CONE A CONE!
ОтветитьDevastating round!
Ответитьgaijuble fans in shambles.
ОтветитьI still don't get how the shell explodes inside the tank. If the tank has less armour it overpens and the shell works like a regular AP round, but if the tank has more armour and it penetrates the shell explodes.
Can somebody explain it to me?
this is amazing.
ОтветитьI may not be an expert but APHE should detonate during penetration of thick plates because of fuse being sensitive to distance of penetrated armor not a time or distance after pen. Thats why when armor in vehicle was too thin the fuse would not activate resulting in over penetration
ОтветитьHowever British 17pdr ap was only marginally weaker than 88mm PzGr 38 shells, testament to how good we made solid shot, and testament that APHE wasn't as great as gayjoob makes it out to be, only adding more spalling later in the tank. And overpressure (which was the majority of the benefits)
ОтветитьIn my opinion, APHE would have the same exact affects as SOLID shot except for extremely angle penetrations, so with overmatching penetrations, the spall created by the armor shattering would be a lot less deadly when compared to the shrapnel created by the round, given that the spall of the armor would go downwards or upwards, depending on the angle, making it less “forward”. But that’s just my opinion with the limited knowledge that I have gathered through most of my research since I am not a professional.
ОтветитьIts amazing!
ОтветитьThis has got to be the most interesting and informative simulation and explanation you've done. This is top notch!
ОтветитьWhat program?
ОтветитьImagine sitting in a building with that grenade coming through the wall at 250 m/s going past you. It explodes and effectively slowing down the base plate to standstill. Dropping it at your feet... ^^ How absurd!
ОтветитьReally does show that war thunders way of simulating aphe is just inaccurate.
Ответитьmeanwhile in WT: F I R E B A L L O F D E A T H
Ответитьand this is why a t34 volatilizes when shot by a jadgtiger
ОтветитьGame please
ОтветитьOh my goodness, 128mm does not play around
Ответить'
did TNT inside the bullet round inside the tank
ouch
ОтветитьBest armor no armor :D
ОтветитьThis channel is like mobile game adverts... Avatar always shows totally different things vs actual movie clips.
ОтветитьAwesome video!
ОтветитьWhats cool about this All german APHE shells Tip have high hardness
so when the HE explodes the tip still goes forward damaging anything in front of it (Most of the time engines)
Entry hole: Ms. APHE just entering college
Exit hole: Ms. APHE I'm a career woman ready to settle down.
I have a question that what happen when APHE round cannot penetrate the armour.
I think it should explode inside the armour plate but will this cause more damage to the plate than normal AP?
This makes me curious about whether the amount of spall produced by the plate depends on the residual velocity of the projectile? Would be interesting to see a pair of simulations showing the effect on the rear of the plate at 110% and 150% ballistic limit velocity.
ОтветитьAlgorithm.
ОтветитьSlow fragmentation or not, when a shell explodes next to you you’re not gonna have a good time anyways.
ОтветитьYou picked a rather large cavity APHE. One and a half pounds of explosive? A more interesting FEA would be a garden variety 7,5 cm PzGr 39. It just had 17 gms of HE I think. Target being a garden variety sherman and T34.
ОтветитьThese simulations are actually wack mate. This is incredible
ОтветитьI have another idea for a video like this one: can you make a series of simulations where a given shell is striking the target at the same velocity. Every target has the same LoS thickness but is sloped differently. So, something like 7.5cm PzGr.39 at 800m/s against 100mm LoS targets: 50mm/60°, 42mm/65° etc. to see whether the sloped armour keeps increasing in effectiveness or if there is some point of diminishing returns.
ОтветитьHow about an 18" Shell against 16" Turrent Amor.
ОтветитьYour videos are greatly appreciated!
ОтветитьThe ultimate "Buenos Dias and goodbye!"
ОтветитьCool can you do an 183 t57 t40 Sherman rocket either 183mn Ap or 183HE rocket from the t40 Sherman
ОтветитьExplosion is not starting from the middle though. Fuse is built in a way to start the explosion from the tip, directing the expansion to back as hard as possible.
You still get the wave dragged forward, but it's nowhere near as bad as it looks here.
This sim reminds me of no armour is best armor against apfsds
ОтветитьTL:DR the crew is not going to have a good time
ОтветитьWhat program is this
Ответить500 grams of explosives feels almost blasphemous 😂
ОтветитьMust be a howitzer artillery round 🤔
ОтветитьVery interesting! The fragmentation effect of APHE is usually considered to be a spherical, but it’s clearly more conical — which tracks with British interwar testing.
ОтветитьIt will keeell. lol
