ОтветитьHello, I decided to write this comment and share one tool that kind of helped me combat overthinking a lot. Overthinking was a huge problem of mine and I feel like I didn't even notice how it's not such a big deal for me anymore. Basically it's everything that is stated in the video, but I also found one tool that is very helpful for me. I downloaded one of those TODO apps (I use one that is made by Google, but I'm sure any of those are good). And whenever I have a feeling that there's something that I need to do or if there's smth that bothers me a lot, I just write it to the todo list. And when I have time, I open the app and go through the stuff that I can do. Sometimes I set a timer so that a certain todo thing would appear after a certain date. Also sometimes there are things that I cannot do anything about, so I just write it down in the app with a mark to think it through some time later.
One other benefit of this approach is that it feels extremely satisfying to mark those todos as complete. Also you can see and delete completed tasks, and it really helps me to boost my motivation when I come back to look at the things I have done once in a while.

2. Postpone and reschedule the rumination
1. schedule worry time and problem solve with a time limit (you'll learn that you really have a lot more influence over your worry than you thought. )
2. don’t worry in your head rather write it down (There is a time and a place to worry your mind will understand that until stop worrying unnecessarily basically you set boundaries with your mind oh ** awesome )
3. Attention shifting
1. learn to separate myself from my thoughts
2. practice with mindfulness and Cognitive diffusion
3. visualise shifting thoughts as changing television channels ( what am I most grateful about , what can I control )
(it means we're switching to things that are really specific)
( shift from just compulsive worry to, oh, what are you grateful for?
Or you might shift from thinking about all the things you can't control to what can you control.
Or you might shift from seeing everything as awful to, oh, what might be a more helpful way of thinking about this situation? )
4. Shift from negative thoughts in ur INNER WORLD to the present OUTER WORLD ( if we shift our focus to what's beyond them, we can see that even if this thought exists there's a beautiful world right here, right now. )
1. list 5 things u see and feel
5. Shift from abstract thinking(It leads to self Loathing and L plusness ) to concrete things
1. ex : why can’t I ever be happy like my friends , Why am I so behind in life (instead of asking, "Why can't I ever succeed at relationships?" you could ask, "What is one relationship skill I can work on?")
2. ask question to make it more detailed and practical
1. what is one small thing I can do to become happier today?
(WHY to WHAT)
6. Shift from overthinking to focusing on values
1. what is most important to me right now :
1. spend more time with friends and family
2. have a consistent passive income stream
3. be fit and healthy (Take a walk)
7. Distraction (short term thinkin)
1. do things you actually care about but don’t misuse it that it takes the meaning out of your life

ОтветитьOk that first one is LITERALLY ME LOL! I laugh at my self sometimes when this happens. I over exaggerate allot when I worry. For example. If I run out of my prescription medicine early. I'm on a medicine for anxiety. I get mad and think I'll get in trouble. My anxiety goes through the roof. And causes me to over think. And I spent almost all night wide awake and it's literally a continuous cycle. I mostly blame my toxic pharmacy for this because I'm on a controlled substance. And my biggest fear is running out and getting into trouble. I always get told by my pharmacy and therapist don't worry I'm fine etc. But when the techs get rude and don't know what they're doing. They literally make me sound like I'm an addict. And act like I don't know what a controlled substance is and get on a power trip and hit the panic button if I run out a few days early. I'm like really??? I've been on this thing for years waaay before moved to this new town. And I can tell you I never once had trouble with over thinking until we move here. And my town is full of actual drug addicts. :( So I have this fear of being labeled one because I have a shitty pharmacy and I'm afraid of being labeled an addict for being on a pain killer that I'm supposed to take that my Dr prescribed me. :( ugh my brain hurts from all the stress. I go through this every time I run out too. I'm literally scared of the pharmacy. :'( My last one called me an addict and was rude as hell. :( im Bipolar and can't take antidepressants. So im stuck till I can find a psychiatrist that can treat panic attacks etc. :(
ОтветитьOverthinking is so physically and emotionally exhausting, like in my case I overthink almost everything whether it be what book to read, what movie to watch, or any decision it is so distressing. This content really is important for people like me who suffer from overthinking because I just want to live my life in peace.
ОтветитьBut I don't have anything like this to worry about. I woke up one morning and my heart was racing and I started to have butterflies for no reason at all! This started a month ago and I'm still struggling everyday, now I have intrusive thoughts like I'm going to panic and this feeling will never go away 😢

ОтветитьWell, I am a person who thinks a lot, especially after what I said. My second problem is with places like classrooms. Although I was a very good student and had no problems, after graduating from high school I stopped studying and started working. Now I have a very good life. I just get really stressed every time I remember class or something like that. Now I decide to fix these two issues.
