Riding the Most Technical Trail at Hawes | Sunset Ridge with Alex Petitdemange 2023

I tried riding this trail yesterday. And the trail needs maintenance, badly. They are so many portions of the trail that are just completely washed and rutted out. Just couldn't ride most of the trail.

Ride this today for this first time. I’ve watched your video multiple times to mentally prepare. You guys make it look much much easier than it actually is. You guys are very talented riders.

Do Saguaros have spines that come off and stay in you if you accidentally brush against one? Is there ground cacti right on the trail edge? Are flats very common in this kind of riding? Desert riding seems weird but I guess now is the time to go. Not hot, so you can wear more protection, and the snakes aren't out yet.

I need to head out there. It's all flat land in the Midwest. Boring as hell. I would gain experience so much faster in places like Arizona, Colorado, and Utah.
