Looks like their damage limitation is as good as the product.

I think your interpretation is interesting. I just hope that the next contact you have with this company isn’t through a lawyer. They can do a lot of damage, regardless of the merits of their case. Good luck. You’d be missed if they shut you down.

Interesting that they all write "FLSUNs" the same way, and none of them use an apostrophe.

If we could only get the machine generated accounts to buy the products from other machine generated sites. I would love to see an electronic ouroboros in action.

It’s sad. I expect that AI in the hands of bad actors is just going to make this all get exponentially worse. We have been at the point where almost all reviews, ratings and recommendations are tainted to the point where it’s mostly useless. I appreciate the way you do your videos and I hope that your followers can support you as you move forward. I believe that the next few years, advocacy will be key.

So I had a hunch and confirmed it it: The cut-off "… I hope FLSUN" comment is exactly 254 characters long, about 2^8. The data type of the astroturf database column this all comes from is a MySQL VARCHAR(255) 🤭

Keep doing what you do. I know you put a lot of work into the FLSUN video, and it gave me a great operational view of the machine, which is out of my price range AND decidedly not very polished. And we totally know you AI generated just using some clips of the real James 🙂

The first 3D printer I got in 2018 was a FLSun. It was complete garbage, rails didn't align, the software was rubbish, it couldn't print absolutely anything. The only "valuable" thing in it was the aluminium extrusions. The only good thing from it was that I learned CAD to re-design the flawed parts myself, and ended up getting an Ender 3 to actually print stuff. Since then I've had and designed dozens of different printers.

I reckon this delta is probably just overpriced hardware. Also, the worst part of deltas is how the arm links wear out and lose precision. At that point, you have to completely replace the arms. This does not happen with CoreXY or bed slingers. A well built delta with good arms that have easy to replace knuckles; and good software to adjust arm length for dimensional accuracy is what the market needs.

I'd stay away from FLSun based on their history....

Funny thing is that the comments all seem to have such a similar sound and flow to them, very artificial.
This does at least make it easier to tell bots from the humans.
You produce some really useful videos, thanks.

Ryan McBeth works with Cyabra which can do a meta-analysis on comments and their associated user accounts (age of account, patterns of commenting, shared language, timing) to determine the likelyhood of deceptive or coordinated activity. Though in this case, you were able to intuit it by using one of the greatest pattern recognition machines ever developed, your brain. 🧠

While what you say could be true... someone "paid" a company to post 6 messages on an older video? You say that newer accounts are suspect... but older accounts are suspect. Personally, I just don't see enough evidence that anyone is doing as you claim... or at least not to any effect. Seems like this could have (should have?) be left well enough alone. You are really just making unfounded speculation at something that does not matter at all.

Caveat emptor is the guideline for 3 D printer companies, and most others. It’s a good idea to hide watch until the better reviews bring out the more honest and complete reviews.

Heck yeah hold these companies to account! Had this happen a few times on not so flattering reviews now (mostly creality...), I reckon it's resellers or marketing individuals going rogue rather than coming from the main companies. It's always so sloppy and badly done it feels done in desperation. Been thinking a lot about the bot death of the internet and for YT I really do reckon if they charged $1 per upload it'd fix the issue instantly and affect no legitimate user. Not that they ever listen to us. 😂

Bots can post these comments meanwhile 90% of my comments get deleted by yt. I'm seriously considering deleting my account. I even get notification of other people answering to messages when my reply gets deleted. yt does also shadow banning. Than I can see my own comment but logged out I can't see my comment.

The comments do look sus. However, I have a v400 for almost two years, it has served me well. Most of what I print is round and the printer has met my needs. I also want to touch on the customer service, within a month of getting the printer my effector just broke, they shipped me a new one really fast and it has been working ever since with regular proper maintenance. I will agree there are things that need to be adjusted for using a delta printer. I do not print at 400mm/s; 200-250mm/s yields great results using PLA+.

Your more general comments at the end are interesting too.
If not, more interesting.
Since the dawn of the AI era, quality of information hasn't exactly increased. I think Google is now in the awkward position that they have to filter out AI generated pages, while at the same time worshipping this new technology.
AI doesn't give us new information, it just rechews existing information. Or worse, it combines quality information with so-called hallucinations.

I've been an engineer for about 40 years now. It sickens me that any company would put a product out, that they know damn well doesn't work properly. It is more about a release date, than it is about a quality product. With today's CAD and prototyping abilities, there is zero excuse for any of this. Any company that says that they are innovative and will 'eventually' get it right, is only showing how incredibly irresponsible and incompetent they really are.
