Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about Polycam's room mode in the comments below! :)
ОтветитьSo, poly cam vs Magic plan, that's the question I have. Any thoughts?
ОтветитьHi, I downloaded it to my Google Android phone and it doesn't show the same as on the iPhone, any idea if this app supports Android as well? I can't figure it out
ОтветитьIt went up to $17.99 in a year!!!
Ответитьcan you do multiple floors like this and be able to toggle each floor?
ОтветитьBig problem to made correct 2D floor plan when the room is not regular..app work good whit squared room with 90° degrees wall but when one wall have different angle and I export in any format the 2D floor is wrong..appear like squared room
ОтветитьCan i use this for cabinet making and designing with fusion360 ? Or is it just sketch up
ОтветитьThis is al fine and dandy but how does this hold up when you do multiple rooms or an entire floor ?
Ответитьhow accurate is this? i'm thinking you could scan the room, import it and rescale it with tapemeasure tool after measuring, let's say, the doorwidth?
ОтветитьAny Lidar systems out there that an be saved as an ESX file for Xactimate?
ОтветитьWould this work with stairs ?
ОтветитьHi, your video is very good.
Is it possible to use Lidar sensor and convert the file to dwg?
To use in autocad 3D
Thanks
How precise can this get, if I wanted to use this for getting precision measurements for a shower build or bathroom remodel?
ОтветитьThank for a great vid! What iphone model did you use for this?
ОтветитьWhat do you think about using the LIDAR scans for creating a model of the exterior site topography? As an architect, knowing the grading conditions would be very helpful.
ОтветитьHey Justin love your vid’s!!!! I don’t see anyone showing off this can scan staircases???? Is this possible
ОтветитьBlender (which is free) can be used to convert from GLB (GLTF) to DAE for use in SketchUp. This saves having to pay for the PRO subscription in Polycam if all you want to do is get scans into SketchUp. NB: I found using Blender for this intermediate step allows for easier removal of unwanted objects (faces are grouped together) rather than doing it in SketchUp where they are split apart.
ОтветитьIs there anything for Android phones?
ОтветитьThanks for review using a realistic room, with all its various bits and pieces. But, I think you gloss over a very critical issue in many situations. Accuracy for these systems has not been great. Apparently, on smaller room, it is not as big an issue. But, if the room is larger, like 25'x25', then accuracy can drop way off. As in +/- 3". That is not nearly enough accuracy to use it. It may still be useful to create the 3D model, and then modify it to the actually measured dimensions. But, you have to realize that every wall, door & Window location could be off by a few inches.
I also see a problem with subscription software in general. Since it takes a lot of time to really get to know a piece of software, that investment of time is hard to part with. So, that leaves you vulnerable to getting price gouged when the software vendor decides to take a larger profit. Also, companies, both large and small, go out of business all the time. This may not really be a big issue for simpler software. Though, for things like AutoDesk Inventor, it can mean that complex models, that took years to develop, would have to be abandoned if the vendor went bankrupt, or just wanted to charge you much more. You end up locked in, because exporting your work really gets rids of all the intelligence in the model.
This looks fantastic. However, it appears to register surfaces and objects as cuboids, with all angles essentially 90º. Is this correct? How does it cope with irregular geometries, such as curved walls and floor plans that are not characterised by 90º angles? Thanks.
ОтветитьDoes my laptop have to be apple to import dae into sketchup?
ОтветитьI think I need an apple laptop to view the dae in sketchup
ОтветитьMuito rápido quando fala….. can you speak more slowly, please? Thanks
ОтветитьCan I convert existing LiDAR scans to room scans?
ОтветитьI want to buy, iPhone 13 pro, but I want to look for the useful update
ОтветитьI've been using polycam for 1 year and this app is amazing! I couldn't find room mode. How should I activate it? Thank you for your advice and congratulations on your channel.
ОтветитьHI what app do you use
ОтветитьI think it may be down to IOS not been 16 on phone just updating it currently
ОтветитьThe Polycam app i have doesn’t show these buttons ?
ОтветитьHi, I really appreciate your works. How ca I scan and reproduce a human body in 3D? tankyou
ОтветитьI can’t find the settings for Room Mode and the app is up to date so what gives?
ОтветитьUnfortunately not that accurate so no good for surveys. On a room about 5.4m x 5.4m the scan was 130mm and 160mm off and ceiling height was 20mm off.
To get the furniture in a group:
Select the face of any piece of furniture
Right Click
Select > all with same material
Then hold down Alt key and click on any furniture line
Right Click
Select > all connected
Edit > make group
Looks really cool but dimensional accuracy is a must for my work. How off were the model dimensions from the actual physical kitchen dimensions? Thanks!
ОтветитьDoes it scan ceilings or just floor and walls?
ОтветитьI think this is incredible!! Thank you for covering this!
Things I would have love covered in the video:
What devices this works on
Accuracy of dimensions
Future stated release goals
How it handles windows and mirrors
How large of a space it can capture
How clean the imported model is
Thank you! Downloading this now!!
Wow! The speed of advancements at the moment is insane! 😲
