I went to look at a 2024 Bighorn, 5.7 with the your getting etorque whether you like it or not, tried to keep an open mind, but popped the hood and that golf cart motor on top of that Hemi just made me….sad. That truck next to my 2016 just looks and sounds….sad. The system is removing the balls from everyone and everything. Dam shame. It’s the dysfunctional government imposing ridiculous net mpg ratings.

What's the cost when it breaks?

Just got mine 2 days ago and to me the start stop is not seamless, you can tell. I will say it's not as jerky as some cars I've been in. Also while stop, it will start backup due to other system demands, so if you're at a 5 minute stop... maybe half of that stop the motor is off.

Can it keep the air conditioning running? When you're staying still?

You lost me at start stop. That's the worst crap ever invented

Garbage components. Already replaced the etorque tension torque converter 3 times. And there is no special tool to compress the tensioner to get in place… absolute garbage

The new system is extremely fun to drive. Throttle response is considerably improved with the integration of the eTorque system. It’s quite impressive!

Can you shit off the etorque all together with?

Half cooked implementation. Dodge couldn't be bothered to integrate this into the engine block / transmission / transfer case, so they bolted it on top and had the power transmitted to the crank by a belt...this is appropriate as a proof of concept , or a prototype, but for a production vehicle ! lazy

DONT BUY A RAM WITH ETORQUE. They claim 20/26 gpm but it's more like 11-12/15 gpm. Look it up every etorque driver is pissed. Should of kept my GMC

Another goofy gimmick. My '04 4wd pulled just as well and got the same mileage as a '21 Rebel without all the extra garbage that WILL go bad. How about just building a good truck again and stop with the unnecessary expensive gimmicks

Soon as I saw this, I knew it was a band-aid to grab some extra 1-2 MPG to meet emissions. It's such an ass backwards system. You took an alternator, and turned it BACK into a motor. This ultimately turned into the 4xe their doing now. Which still sucks.

Just more crap to break. If Toyota isn’t doing it that should tell you something.

2020 Ram 1500 5.7 limited etorque generator gone bad 12897miles on it, truck has been sitting at the dealer for almost a month. How can this happen to a $60000 truck and why is this part on back order?
Also can a 5.7 with etorque be converted to a conventional alternator?

etorque is trash. first thing you do when you get in your truck is disable the auto start/stop button and then on your steering wheel if equipt you push the minus button for the gear shift until it shows the gears then push the plus button until it reaches gear 8 to disable the eco mode because all this shit ruins trucks. keep this technology in little cars not trucks and suvs

I had my eyes on a beautiful 2022 Ram Bighorn that had the 5.7 e-torque. I would have bought it because its a beautiful truck but I worry about that battery failing one day. I wish it was just the regular 5.7. Sorry Ram.

I think the fuel savings will not outweigh the costs from constant loss of oil pressure between starting and stopping the engine.

Those motor generators are not holding up. Programmed 2 of them in 2 weeks

I don't even know this was a thing until I looked at a newer Dodge and it said it had e system and then I watched this video and realized oh wow so you deleted the starter and the alternator and you put this thing in which I imagine is probably five times as expensive as either and if it breaks you have neither awesome I think I'm going to buy an older car

2022 fast forward ,nobody likes the new system, fuel savings , yeah right !!...whats the cost when all of this stuff starts to break down $$$...so much for fuel savings, great , just what we all need , more sensors , more computers... a lot more to fail and break down !! ,
