Some of the best acting can be a twitch of the eyes, a shift of the shoulders. It can speak volumes.

THE REACTIONS IN SALTBURN !!!! You spend so much time trying to figure out how different characters feel about situations based on their reactions and it makes it so mysterious and captivating

Jared Leto is a great method actor, btw. His performance in Blade Runner 2049, acting as a blind visionary (by being actually blind) is unpaired.

I'm mostly intrigued by voice actors personally, because I feel like having somebody create "a vessel" for their voice (that sounded kinda weird) makes it sooo much more authentic to me. Ella Purnell's performance of Jinx/Powder in Arcane was amazing (so were most of the Arcane cast). And I watch a lot of anime and even tho I don't speak Japanese fluently(yet), I can still feel and really enjoy the voice acting (srsly Erwin's suicide-charge speech is insanely well performed)

That being said sometimes live action acting is so good that that actor just is that character permanently in my eyes, even if the movie dropped 10 years ago.

as a professional theater actress I could not for the life of me say what is bad acting or good acting; of course, TV and theatre are complety different, but it's all so subjective. I don't believe in method acting, just not something that works for me and it's been for some actors and directos just a excuse to treat people badly (Jared Leto and Stanley Kubrick) and for me, to say what is good or bad it's not enough, cuz it will be different to another fellow and so on and on.

In Tv u can get a facil acting perfect but in theater this would not be seen, so we tend to use alot more of our bodies to express feelings; the way we act could be seen as exaggerated for someone who's not used to it or is expecting hollywood type of acting.

I dunno, just rambeling on this cuz it's my cup of tea

can't believe I'm only noticing how he added a barely noticeable smoke effect when he said under the radar. That's proper attention to detail, reminds me of what Jay Foreman does.

Daniel Day Lewis is an example of how you can get away with method acting but only if you pull off a phenomenal performance. Dude never misses but is known for staying in character 25/8 lol

by the way is there a concept of overacting as Anthony Hopkins in "The remains of the days" or Meryl Streep in many movies?!

I would do so much just for Drew to do a sequel to this video about voice acting. Talking about the importance of it and how talented some people are and the RANGE some voice actors have! And also about shitty examples and talking about how dumb it is to cast celebrities in animated stuff when they can't voice act just because they're famous. Drew please. I am manifesting you deciding to sort through new comments on random videos...

And the last great acting moment i saw is in Openheimer when they realise have powerful the actomic bomb they built is and what they have unleashed on the world. If you guys disagree please tell me

don't get me wrong, my whole philosophy of communication and attention management is based on reactions. But sometimes capturing the starkness of the non-reaction is the most powerful shot and that is mostly down to casting (someone who turns out to naturally look the way that the character is meant to look when they aren't reacting) and/or editing (even the most wooden, or by contrast over-acting actors can be captured while they're 'not reacting'). The most powerful 'not reacting part' is Claire Foy as the queen in the first two series of the Crown. The whole idea is that she had to conceal her feelings, especially when circumstances forced her to break promises and demonstrate her iron will and unflinching expressionlessness when confronted with the need to let people down gain and again, simply 'for the sake of preserving the (Royal) family' by maintaining a commitment to keeping themselves at one remove from anything that looked like 'intervention' or 'involvement'.

I invested two years of my life in the best acting university in my country and have finally decided to quit. The passion and love I had for this profession and the wish I had, which was to move people and make them feel inspired has all been killed in me. I feel, I will never be able to have the confidence to believe in myself while acting ever again.

Leonardo DiCaprio drives me crazy!!! his acting is ALWAYS screaming!, yes, he's very good at it, but that's all he does!!! I hate screming like that. I was a bit afraid in A marriage story when Adam went off (I saw the scene first, then the whole movie) but Ill admit in that scene? it was fitting.

My fave subtle acting i actually from benedict Cumberbatch in Tinker Tailor Soilder Spy, just..spoilers XD

where he breaks off with his partner so they don't find out he's gay...he is just silently crying, it is always so heartbreaking

I'd like to give Jared Harris' performance in the Sherlock Holmes 2 movie, specifically when Holmes was telling Moriarty how the latter's crime empire has been completely dismantled by the former. The subtle twitches and his small movements really sold that silent murderous rage building up inside him culminating in an eerily calm smile and sort of casual tone he gives Holmes as they conclude their conversation.

Good acting when you are on a Stanley Kubrick film is convincing anyone after their first day on set that you want to be there and that Kubrick is not a complete cunt who sullies the good name of directors. After leaving the author whose story he defiled and his leading actor to defend his work whilst he hid in a hole like a coward, I am genuinely surprised the asshole was not blacklisted. I know a lot of people who had any connection with Jack Nicholson made a note in their contacts to tell Kubrick to fukk off.
