What are Examples of Character Flaws from Your Novels? (Writer Wednesday)

I like these examples because I’m not familiar with them. I feel like a lot of writing advice channels recycle the same popular books and movies etc for reference, but in this case it helps conceptualize the story to someone who isn’t already familiar with it.

I'm struggling to come up with a flaw for my hero. He has superpowers which have caused him to hurt those close to him, so his misbelief is 'Those that are different are monsters and can't be trusted.' He believes he's a danger to those around him, and is better off alone. But flaw wise I'm stumped. He's inquisitive and likes to help people, is in school to be a investigative journalist.

Definitely checking out your books now! I love characters with genuine flaws. It's so hard to find books with female main characters that aren't perfect or have flaws that have no affect on the world or their arc.

So, I was wondering could you do a video of examples of themes in your novels? I went through your creating blockbuster ideas class and was going over the list of themes, is there really only ten?
