I just wanted to thank Andy for the insight here and wanted to share the script I'm about to test out this week on the doors. It utilizes some influence from Chris Voss ("No orientated questions and calibrated questions").

After quick preoccupation break...
"My name is Joel Hartinger.

My company has been allocated to this area because research shows that your energy bill is on track to double in the next 12 to 18 months.

We're just asking a few quick questions and I can be on my way:

1. Do you see yourself using energy all the days of your life or would you ever just switch to candles?
2. Do you believe inflation is real?
Do you think things are costing more or less?
3. And lastly, what's the main reason you chose *utility company*?

So based off what you've just told me, if utility company doubled or tripled your energy bill and you didn't pay it, you'd have to run the home off of candles-which you would never do-which means you have no control over your energy bills and utility company could take advantage of you-sound right?

As the homeowner, IF there was a secondary energy option in which you could save money, be inflation proof, and you couldn't get taken advantage of, would you be against learning about it?"

Then go back to introduction like Andy said, etc.
