Wudang Kung Fu - Mantis, Dragon and Snake Forms

The most important things about anything in life is balance and timing.

This is proper show of kungfu in my opinion. No acrobatics, just simple flow of movements.

Its cool to see in movies. But for defense its absolutely useless. And proven.

It's so incredible to me what the human body and mind is capable of when trained and disciplined enough. Martial arts is just beautiful to watch.

And then there's me who can barely make it up the stairs without having to sit down.

What are these forms part of if not from shaolin? Does Tai Chi or Bagua have their own versions of animal styles?

Why are there no octopus style kungfu ?

Some of the moves in each one are from Tai Chi. Was great demonstration. I like the Dragon style the best.

I like how they really kind of represent the animals.
The mantis one is quick, small movements and nimble, being small forces it to defend itself, but it will not fall without fighting.
The dragon one is moving in one direction with big steps, almost like its showing off, it shows greatness and power, thinking nothing will step on his way, but he wouldn’t have claws if that was the case.
And the snake keeps it low, only coming up when its cornered, moving side to side as quick as possible, it might not be the strongest, but its also not the weakest.

First form is from modern Wushu, not a traditional Wudang form. I'm not sure about the others, but they definitely look modern not traditional.
