i know that movie from my childhood under a different titel "liebe im 3/4 Takt " I had no idea it's an american movie since 90 % of the actors are famous Germans from the 40's and 50"

Fun fact: In 1961, Disney produced a tv film about Beethoven, called "The Magnificent Rebel".

This is a great movie about Strauss’s family and music. I really enjoyed every single second of it and I feel I wish I had lived in Vienna in Strauss tine. However, the movie ignored the great waltz in the world “The Blue Danube Waltz” and I was disappointed the movie didn’t play this magical waltz. Overall, it was a great movie.

They way they select musicians for modern day Orchestra's is very different from years ago. Women were routinely dismissed based on gender. When they select an Orchestra these days, the candidate is behind a screen and wears soft shoes, so as to be unrecognisable by gender. In that way the selection alone is made on pure talent. It's amazing these tactics must still be adhered to because modern day negative bias towards women is still overwhelmingly strong.

If we were smart we would go back about 35 years and SCRAP with extreme prejudice just about 80% of what has come out of Hollyweard since.
Walt Disney would burn at the stake the people who are running his great organization into the ground.
THESE are the stories my Great grandchildren should be learning from.

Senta Berger was absolutely gorgeous. She is 22 yrs old in this film. And she is from Vienna, Austria!

Remember this movie on TV, as a child. So happy to see this again. Thank you.

Why are the classic Walt Disney so much better than anything they make now? They lost something in today's world. This is just a great movie.

Sadly, the last decent film made by actor Kerwin Mathews, everybody's favorite childhood fantasy hero (Jack the Giant Killer, 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Gulliver, etc). After The Waltz King, he knocked around Europe for a few years, then returned to America but could only find work in low-budget junk (Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Octa-man!, etc) before giving it up to run his famous antique store Pierre Deux in San Francisco. After his big heyday (late 50's/early 60's) , things just never worked out for Mathews, always a modest, unassuming and very professional guy. LR

What a joy to watch this gem with my most favorite German actors I had no idea they all did a Walt Disney Film together. What a marvellous beautiful movie. Love Love Love it. I keep dancing since I watched it & love the way this fabulous movie makes me feel. Thank you so much for sharing ❤❤❤❤

Walt drew...and still draws...a lot of flack for his admitted reactionary politics. But he had a well rounded vision for the media he wanted to turn out. More than just animation and cornering the world market.

The current regime...so to speak...is stuck in live action remakes and rainbow politics. Anti Trump / De Santis. Intent on attracting drag show clientele.

I'd love to be proven wrong.

Thanks for this delicious film with many famous Austrian actors and characters. I live almost next to the Viennese opera house and love this presentation. I did not know it exists. The operette ``Die Fledermaus``, The Bat, is shown every New Year`s Eve in the opera and there is a huge screen built up before the building so that the public can participate. 🎩

The Countess and the singer are both gorgeous. I like the Countess better. I always like the Slavic gals :)

Also from the Disney universe, Dorothy Jane Torkelson knew how to waltz.

Excellent. Movie I just hope we have more of these movies with beautiful music .great scenery and. People inspiring each other. Good values no swearing, no violence . It shows how people achieve their goals with the of families and friends. The world needs to go back and start to listen to relaxing music . Pleasant music is healing and it helps us to calm down and. Get rid of the stress around us. Loud music. Creates stress. And stress. Makes us age faster

Den Film kannte ich gar nicht. Senta Berger, Fritz Eckhardt und Peter Kraus - unglaublich, so jung als Strauss-Sohn Josef! 2022 hab ich ihn mit über 80 auf der Bühne live singen hören. Fit wie ein Turnschuh! Und Senta - so eine schöne und talentierte Frau, immer noch.
