3 BEST FREE Video Editing Software for PC - 2023

Clipchamp was working just fine until 3 days ago now it's extremely pixelated. Made me so mad so I gotta find another one

Just subscribed. Do you have any info on the minimum specs (GPU, CPU) required to run DaVinci Resolve 18. I am currently running an I7-6700k CPU with a GTX 950 video card, but I don't think it would handle the latest versions of Resolve. Any thoughts?

After watching several videos including your Davinci Resolve better be on this list. You are right about a steep learning curve D.R. may be as good as you say, but it is hard to wrap my head around. To make matter worse there are only a few tutorials on 18.5. and some are not all that great. This may sound silly but most of the younger people want to learn how to do what they have seen on the TV show Charmed or Star Trek. If I still had adobe AE and Sony Vegas that is what I would use. These types of effects should not be all that hard, there needs to be tutorials out there to show how to.

Clipchamp is really basic and limits exports to 1080p/30. You have to pay for the high export options. Really lame.

Ok. So i installed this app. and did my security tests and noticed that for some reason it will only run if you have a internet connection. hmmmmmm strange for a download. If this was a stand alone download it would not require network connection to function. So..... any app that requires connection to a remote server to process your personal projects means you might be sharing your videos and other info with Microsoft! I always test all my downloads especially stuff thats offered for free there is always a price to pay on the back end. I removed the app....

Clipchamp seems to absolutely butcher the fps of the video after exporting, is there a way to solve this?

The free Clipchamp doesn't allow to change the speed of part of the video. I don't know why they haven't included it as its a fairly basic feature these days.

is the daVinci resolve a trial of 30 days kind of free or free free with some locked tools until you pay for the studio version?

DONT USE clipchamp its so bad! after export video is so laggy and has bad bitrate

CapCut is no longer free. They make you upgrade to export!!!

I started on Windows Movie Maker (how I miss thee), then on to Blender, then downgraded to OpenShot when I started doing less and less editing and just more general trimming down. I had thought I was going to come back with DaVinci because I knew how awesome it was, but this CapCut thing looks like a really perfect sweet spot for the level I want to be at with my videos (hobbyist, not pro). I'm gonna give that a try, thanks.

You just saved me MONEY!! I was about to use a "paid" service for a training that I am doing for work and stumbled upon this video and .... FREE video editing!! I'm going with DR for now but will be exploring the other two for future projects. Having used Final Cut pro and AVID, I'm not a beginner but I don't seek to find the most complex system to use in making simple video projects. Thanks again Kevin!

Can Davinci Resolve 18 run on 8 GM RAM PC?

Hi Kevin. Thanks for the great video. I have a query. When I convert a ppt slide that includes animation and convert it to a video and include it in clip champ, the video has a lot of lag with the audio file included in parallel with it. Any thoughts on this on how to fix this..

I like clipchamp; it's easy to use and i like the interface, free library of stuff, and all that... BUT it is very slow and you can't get the highest quality without paying. Also since it's cloud based it can crash if you don't have a good computer and connection.. I'll just be editing and this it crashed and demands a refresh

ClipChamp is ass, i tried it and it made the video quality much worse on their free version, i highly recommend to NOT use it

Hi Kevin I have been using DaVinci resolve and just upgraded to version 18.5 (pc) What has happened now is a disaster that i am hoping you can help with. Now when i import a media file and place it in my timeline all i get is blue in the timeline. No video or sound and the play button doesnt appear to work. Do you by chance have any suggestions please? I hope you can help. The free version has worked well in the past. Cheers Christine
