Saw Franchise - I Wanna Play a Game (Eric Matthews' Game) Part 2

Eric Matthew’s would’ve been the only character in the saw series to live through the end if they went with the original saw 4 storyline

It's not that hard to talk with someone especially jigsaw but Eric Matthews allowed his emotions to get the better of him

Eric had no idea he had the easiest game out of every victim. All he had to do was just TALK and LISTEN to John.

John "Jigsaw" Kramer: "Why are you so desperate to get your son back?"

Eric Mathews: "Because he's my son."

John "Jigsaw" Kramer: "What's the last thing you said to him before you left him?"

Eric Mathews: [in a flashback] "WELL, THEN GO!!!"

What makes this moment so heartbreaking is the fact that this really was the last thing Eric ever said to Daniel. 😔

Watching Griggs behavior, and response in this scene is just such a foreshadow of saw 4. Bascially if he would’ve kept his own opinion to himself, and restrained matthews when assaulting John. This all could’ve been avoided. When ya think of it😅.

He's in a "safe place". Talk about speaking literally.

Safe and secure. Jigsaw was noooooooo joke with his verbal judo.

I was very surprised by Donnie Wahlberg's performance in this film. I vaguely knew who he was and had pretty low expectations but was blown away by the chemistry that he had with the excellent Tobin Bell in these scenes. Great stuff.

Best horror movie ever! Not the typical villain chasing people with knives. So innovative!...And he drops SO many gems throughout the whole series!

And this is why mark was unfortunately the best cop in the series. He actually listened to John and survived the shotgun chair, Eric would get violent and blow his own head off in that situation

Don't forget the rules ...

This is an example of why I love the Saw franchise. Despite its copious amounts of gore, it's not just another slasher series. There is a very deep and important message underneath it all.

John is the legitimate angel of death. It's like talking to the Death itself.

Eric had the easiest game in the series, and he still failed.

Sit and chat....easy game for most....not for someone like Eric Matthews...totally played against his personality and expected him to fail...love it

probably best dialogue scene in the franchise

"if I were to tell you the exact date and time of your own death, it would shatter your world completely"

This is exactly what happened, literally. Jigsaw had Eric's life on a 90 minute timer, the funny thing is is the "shattering his world" part is also interesting considering Eric had his head shattered between two blocks of ice

I'd love to speak to John for hours on end, He is a very interesting guy

Eric was way too impatient and couldn’t follow such a simple rule to win his game.

When John says "don't forget the rules." He's implying that that's how Eric will find his son

Jigsaw’s voice is pure gold.

unpopular opinion: the guy that plays eric matthews is a better actor than his overrated brother mark wahlberg

well, if he'd just played the game, talking and waiting he won't end up dead.

it would have been cooler is when he asked where his son was john said "He's in this room with us, go look at the monitors if you want to see him" because not only would it have a double meaning but it would also show jigsaws sarcasm.

Funny thing John’s got a point I mean it doesn’t matter what job you’ve got or whether problems it’s things like catastrophic events that you’re truly alive and trying like hell surviving.
