Luminor Quaranta models are 40MM and 100m Water resistant now! PAM01372, PAM01370, PAM01371 They are also thinner and have a nice P.900 movement and 3 days power reserve. Try on a new one and oh btw they can go deeper than 100m...they test them at 125% but are probably good to 200m. ;)

I have an Azzurro. Gets more wrist time than any of our Rolex collection. Looking to add a Carbotech. Panerai are mesmerising.

...Big PAM fanboy.......Due 38/40 at 30m w/r not good enough...ladies and tiny guys watch......Radiomir suffers from the 27mm lug problem on wires....ltd options..therefore for me 2004-2010 Luminor, with cyclops, power reserve or seconds at 300m only option....

I have a rather large watch collection, including an AP Royal Oak 15500, a Submariner 126610LN, a Hulk 116610LV and a Pepsi 126710BLRO. Yet, I just love my PAM00677. Panerais are so unique and iconic. This design. I just love it.

Pam 0125 40mm is a great option. Power reserve with rubber deployment clasp. Love it!

Wearing a Panerai is a paradox. While its immense size is eye catching, the absolute simplicity of the watch does not scream opulence or flamboyance but rather a sense of history, a metaphor to its birthplace Firenze. I absolutely love it.

They’re garbage mass produced pieces of crap. Only ones worth buying are Pre Vendome.
They leveraged 80s/90s action movie stars and didn’t make them brand ambassadors or look after them in any way.
No one wants a 44mm watch anymore anyway.
Garbage and over priced but could have been so much more

With the current downgraded movements. You could probably get a counterfit that works just the same or better

Well, I recently purchased the Due model, in 42mm, and I am really loving it! Yes, it doesn't have the water proofing and I get that many Paneristi hate that, but, it fits under a shirt sleeve and looks beautiful in a suit or tux. And that's why I bought it, for formal wear. Although with the right strap, it looks quite sporting as well. I think this opens up a new world of customers for the brand that might never have looked at them. We'll see how it all pans out.

I bought a 2017 (thereabouts) used Luninor 1950 at a substantial savings. It has a see thru caseback and a very attractive decorative movement. 2020, they “updated with a closed caseback, cheaped out on the movement decor and killed off the hacking seconds. Buy Panerai second hand pre 2020.

Hello TGV, I am hoping you can tell me if there are additional shipping or customs charges when you purchase a watch from Japan? Did your Pam48 incur additional charges or does it ship to the US free of charge as the listing states? Thanks so much and love your channel. Ken in Texas

I have a 2008 40mm white dial Luminor Marina which I adore. The white dial isn’t the tradition choice but what can I say…it spoke to me. It’s a strap monster, incredibly legible and very comfortable. A keeper for sure. Thanks for the video. Great content and knowledge as always.

I’ve grown to like the big, rugged looks of Panerai and have considered buying one, but the counterfeiters seem to love the brand even more than I do. The simple design and somewhat unadorned movements are perfect fodder for the fakers. Other watch channels have stated that even Panerai dealers have a hard time telling the wheat from the chaff.

With eBay’s verification process proving to be laughably ineffective and the marked flooded with fakes (and resellers offloading the fakes they’ve been tricked into buying), it seems like buying a used Panerai is a roll of the dice. And this drives the resale market down, which makes buying a new Panerai a somewhat foolish purchase unless you intend to keep it for the rest of your life.

I have the very same watch since 2012 (purchased new). Every time I think about trading in for something else, something stops me from doing it. I guess it's the iconic design and emotional attachment that no other watch has given to me. It is a conversation piece like no other watch. While some think that 40mm is small for Panerai, it wears much bigger than the size suggests. As for the reliability, it is super accurate and nothing ever went wrong during my 10 plus years of ownership.

Always loved Panerai. So far, I have had the pleasure of owning three of them. I recently gifted my wife with my 44mm PAM 1312 on a shinny orange rubber strap - wow! She has a small wrist but, for some reason, it looks fantastic on her! Watches have never been an investment for me. I always loved them since I was 5 and asked my dad to buy me a Casio for birthday. I come from a humble upbringing so even a simple Casio meant some level of effort for the family. Now, I’m a bit better off, but still only able to buy one luxury piece of moderate price every 5 to 8 years. It is for the pleasure of it. It is for watching TGV videos wearing a nice piece on my wrist. It is for the love of craftsmanship, attention to detail and the constant human pursuit of perfection. Not for boasting, not for making money. Keep up the fantastic work TGV!

I'm saving up to purchase the panerai luminor marina quaranta (40mm) which doesn't sacrifice the water resistance, like Duo, despite the smaller case size. This is really the only model I am looking at bc the other ones are just too big for my arm.

Yet to try a Panerai in person. Aesthetically they do nothing for me, but I think TGV was in this camp himself in the past. They just seem too chunky even at smaller diameters. But one thing I can say, is that if yoy're in the room with someone wearing a Panerai, it's pretty much as easy to read their watch as your own😅

Bought my first Panerai a couple of years ago, a new Luminor Marina, thoroughly amazed by how much i've come to love it. Build quality is great and it feels far more special on the wrist than i was expecting. I choose it over my other watches (Cartier Santos and an Omega Speedmaster) most of the time. It just feels... good :)

I ride Italian motorcycles so it only made sense... I purchased a preowned Panerai yesterday. I tried on a left hand drive 47mm first... WOW. It was MEGA SIZE. I have an 18.5cm wrist. Not tiny but definitely too small for that beast. I wanted as many of the Quirky Panerai things as I could get on 1 watch: I definitely wanted that unique crown, manual wind, sandwich dial and an exhibition case back if possible, I went with a PAM000112, a 44mm. I have a Sinn U1 which I believe is also a 44, but a Panerai 44 is different. The 40mm you have I believe would be the right size for anyone not named Arnold.

Absolutely love Panerai! My grail. 8bhad a chance to grab one prior to Daylight, but I passed and regretted it ever since. I want an all steel bracelet 44mm. But $5k+ hurts so I have to build towards one. Eventually

I too just recently got a Casio 5610, my first Casio. Wasn’t sure I would like it but have come to love it. Got it so wear around electronic equipment at work because one of my mechanical watches got magnetized. The Casio also worked well while traveling in Columbia to not stand out.

Yeah, there's something about the Firenze on the back that gets me. Just might have to get an "older" verified one. I just bought a Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro while in Florence (also a great story behind this smaller Firenze based company/designer) and opted for the one model that says Firenze on the dial :)
