There's a forum called We Get Around(?) I think that's it anyway. It's full of guys who do panos with DSLRs for stitching into 3D tours. I personally have never done it because a few years ago I got into the Matterport PRO2 camera and honestly, it's more than enough resolution for shooting real estate, even luxury real estate which is often what I shoot. Even the onboard HDR processing is quite clean without a lot of ghosting and as a bonus it takes LIDAR measurements as it goes along. The cheaper 360 cams I've tried were nowhere near the quality of the PRO2 (and now theres a PRO3). Will you ultimately get more resolution and grading control using a DSLR on a pano head?...sure, probably, but to what end? You'll be there 3 times longer and in post 10 times longer. I'd rather used that time to shoot more properties and make more money.
