Nice information. Thank you
Ответить@bockbockbouquet - we have a situation with a hen that went broody then due to one of her flock mates attacking her, we were forced to remove broody, and built her a coop of her own, right next to the other run so they can all see each other through the wire fence. We don't have roosters, only the 5 hens who were raised together. She wants to be a mama badly, 6 months into the situation, she still looks in the nesting box and does the little clucking sounds. We are thinking of putting ceramic eggs under her in the spring, then ordering 3 or 4 newly hatched pullets from a hatchery and putting them under her one night. Do you think this will succeed? I guess the worst that can happen is she will kill the babies, but it's a risk we are willing to take. Clearly, she will never be able to go in with her original "sisters," so we're hoping to create her own flock this way.
Ответить,wow !!!!!! I read approx 32 books on chicken rearing and studied. You did 1 video that covered every single item !!!!! If not already , you need to write a book. Gratefully, I already knew your info but it was refreshing that you covered it sooooo fast. Wonderful job !!! I'm amazed
ОтветитьI hope you got a chance to breath after this video :) Seriously though, a lot of great info, thank you!

ОтветитьI have a crested cream legbar that is a year old and was laying consistently for many months. Then she all of a sudden stopped laying. She is just as active as ever, she forages, and is in good health. She doesnt act sluggish or isolate herself she stays with the flock as always. She's not eggbound. She goes in the nesting box once in a while but never lays an egg. We have searched the grounds but have not found any other place she might lay. Her eggs are blue so they are easy to see. But she used to lay an egg at least every other day. We've We been raising chickens for 10 years and have never had this happen. It's been almost 4 months since she has layed an egg. She's been normal in every other way. Thoughts?
ОтветитьThank you so much for this amazing video. We are brand new chicken owners as of a week ago and we have five pallets that are 11 weeks old approximately today. And they went into their coop for the very first time by themselves last night which was so exciting and two of them have started roosting on the roosting bars. My question is and I searched for a video that you may have had about this but I couldn’t find one. Is when do I open the nesting boxes right now we’ve been advised to keep the nesting boxes closed.
ОтветитьWhat is best brooding temperature for chicks?. And for how many days we kept chicks in brooding?. In starting days chicks are cold blooded and later warm blooded and can maintain their body temperature. Chicken dont have sweating glands and also they dont have taste buds but they can smell. Chicken love to eat light color especially yellow color feed grain in preference 😊😊😊❤❤❤

ОтветитьWhat’s the purpose of having a rooster if u don’t need a rooster to procreate
ОтветитьWe actually supplemented wild bird seed into our chicks feed at around 2 months and have been giving them fruits and vegetables since week 1. They are outside now for the first week, temps at night around 50F but I'm constantly running out and checking on them. I switched them from the lamp to the heat plate and they had no idea where they were supposed to get warm until I showed them.
ОтветитьSo informative thank you so much God bless you and yours.
ОтветитьGreat video for information, torturous to listen to though. Woman..... take a breath.

Hi
New sub!
Best, concise chick raising video I’ve seen! Wish I had seen it before getting my first chicks because most of this I had to learn as I went through trial and error. You’re so right about the hemp bedding! It’s so worth it!
ОтветитьWhat is your favorite heat brooder plate
