This song hits me hard but like a comfort. I know its about a relationship but within my story its was a different kind of relationship... my best friend and i met young and when we turned 21 started drinking and together alcohol permeated our friendship and we thought that was okay. We would drink hard and share so much together which the latter is fine but it got so deep to the point we could not hangout without hard drinking... neither of us realized we were alcoholics... until it was too late... my best friend died in july of ‘22 and its been the hardest life lesson ive ever dealt with...

Edit: by the end of his life i had significantly reduced my drinking... i tried to encourage him to quit... but he struggled... he couldnt put it down for long... he tried and ultimately lost the battle. at 31 years old. that is what this song reminds me of is the struggle in that time.
