good pick as you can forget the DR-650 dual sport unless you like riding with KLR650 's to mexico and back ..but in the woods you will have both feet down in low gear trying to cow trail it on a dry day ..but the DR-Z400S can do every motocross trick in the book ..it just dont have as much hp as an RM '''....i would say its a good beginner bike to keep for always a fun time..tie it down on the rear bumper of your RV camper for a grocery getter !!!
ОтветитьWR250R is better bike. I
ОтветитьI don't like that rear fender. I would have that ripped off the first day
Ответитьwonderfull motorcycle overall indeed
ОтветитьThe seat is ridiculously tall.
ОтветитьDo you guys find dirt riding or street riding more fun??
ОтветитьI wish they still sold these in the UK :( stupid EU emission laws!
Ответить@BIGROCKMOTO when are you getting a kove 450 rally?
ОтветитьMy first dual sport was a ts250 suzuki from the 70's. I've owned many bikes since at 54 I'm coming full circle and purchasing a DZR400 very soon! So excited!
ОтветитьThank you for an honest professional opinion on the bike. I just bought one.
ОтветитьIn Canada, the price difference between the CRF300L and the DR-Z is really not that much. The CR is $7500, or 7800 with ABS, while the DR-Z is $8000
What I really want to see is a comparison between the DR-Z400 and DR650.
Can't wait to get mine!
ОтветитьFuel injection will RUIN this bike.
ОтветитьA properly jetted carb on a drz will never flame out like every single other dual sport with fuel injection.
ОтветитьI agree, buy one used for half the cost.
ОтветитьIts biggest competitor is its bigger brother the Suz DR650. It is about 35 pounds heavier, but it does solve a lot of the issues that you spoke about. Both are great bikes considering the bang for the buck.
ОтветитьSuzuki needs competition to make this fuel injected
ОтветитьI have quicker times on my drz than my ktm 250 on tight single track. I have more control clutching in and out of turns and can generate more speed between turns without shifting. The drz is heavier, but is oddly very stable in the turns.
ОтветитьEmissions grandfathering. I don’t think people realize how big of a pass that actually is. As for the seat height is concerned…..I love it. I’m 6’2 and its the only dual sport I don’t feel like an ape riding. 😬
ОтветитьYou led in with a perfect 3 point assessment about why I’d hesitate to buy this bike in the 2020’s.
ОтветитьClutch my friend
It’s all about you, rpm’s n clutch that’s it
Great review. Awesome bike. Thanks
ОтветитьThe more i think about it the more bikes you have the better
ОтветитьThis is real adv bikes. Can get offroad for real and are good in the city. I wish we have more like this but with abs and EI
ОтветитьTo be fair whose taking a dual sport on the freeway regularly
ОтветитьA fully capable motorcycle doesn't need 6-speed, EFI, fuel gauge, and traction control when things go wrong at Starbucks and ask for a Soy latte but get an expresso.
ОтветитьJust watched this now. There is something charming about such a simple bike with no electronics, easy servicing etc.A really cool commuter
ОтветитьThe headlight and it's original lines are it's best selling points in my opinion. Classic.
ОтветитьI'll keep my 701, thanks.
ОтветитьThis with the rally gearing seems like a great fit. Especially with the power the drz has.
Ответить6th gear coming in 2099
ОтветитьMy first gear makes the engine sound like it's gonna blow at 10 mph
ОтветитьI had a 2010 DRZ0400SM ( the super-moto with smaller road tyred wheels ) and was always looking for a 6th gear on the road. Great bike to ride, a real hoot but what killed it for me after 5 years was the seat height ( I am 29 inch inside leg ) and could only hope to get one foot or both tippy-toes down, I then got a 2016 SV650 with ABS, now that seat is more my height....
ОтветитьLove my SM
ОтветитьI need to get a new clutch kit for me
ОтветитьPrice?
Ответить6’3” rider here looking for this
ОтветитьAt 5’9 I’m not sure this would work for me
ОтветитьI am defintely in a quandry as to my 05 DRZ. I've tricked it our for ADV and it is a great machine. That said, its weight is an issue, limited tranny and no FI. I am not willing spend spend huge dollars for a European machine and the new 300's are not much lighter.
ОтветитьPersonally, would just rather see the six speed transmission not fuel injection. bump starting is fun.
ОтветитьThis was one of the best motors on a quad not sure why they quit making them bring back the ltz!! And 400ex
ОтветитьI'm totally with you on your ask of Suzuki, but if they're still making what they're making, they're obviously selling them, and probably pretty cheaply relatively since they don't have any R&D or new tooling costs. I also heard someone else say that if they change too much, then it would have to adhere to stricter-than-2001 emissions regulations. However, if they could update the transmission and lower the seat height without affecting emissions regulations, they'd get even more people on them. It's way too pricey new for its dated features, so maybe they will eventually bring some updates if sales start to go down.
ОтветитьI like it!
ОтветитьThy made it for golaith
ОтветитьExcellent review 👍
ОтветитьNo one else's bike reviews really come close.
ОтветитьHow comparable is it to a xr650l?
Ответить
