This was how I discovered fate and I don'tregret it at all. Also tsukihime is really good

People bashing the Tsukihime anime is the same to me as bashing Deen Night.

I dont care if you read the vns, i dont care you think the animation is bad.
A good story is a good story. And Tsukihime officially made me believe that even after Twilight, vampires and romance can belong in the same story.

I wanted to get into Fate, so im like, "zero comes fist in the timeline? Alright then." And while i was still confused af I got to the fight at the wharf and decided, "this is too cool. Im gonna start properly." Proceeded to watch the earliest adaptation (like a real man), and got so engaged I was sure by the end, itd be in my top favorites. It did. Also made the transition to Zero and then UBW all the more worthwhile.

I specifically resisted and held off watching Carnival Phantasm because I didnt know the other set of characters.
One viewing of Tsukihime later, I was in love with all of them...except Akiha...and Ciel, but it was worth the watch.
And then Carnival Phantasm was the most spectacular thing that could ever happen, anywhere, ever.

I watched Carnival Phantasm with zero knowledge and I found it funny, then I rewatched after I played every Melty Blood game and understood the story of Fate Stay Night and Tsukihime and now I understand every single detail nod and joke and it's a day and night difference, and it was worth it.

Weird confession: This OVA series was practically my introduction to the Fate series. I was literally more knowledgeable about Tsukihime before watching it, via the “Tsukihime anime doesn’t exist” memes online. Along with reading the manga for a bit (I need to try catching up with it lately) and watching Melty Blood let’s plays.
Despite that I still loved watching it. I guess Carnival Phantasm is one of those series where it can be funny even for people who haven’t seen the media it parodies. Finally watching the main 3 Fate show routes mostly made me get the lore jokes.

I swear Carnival Phantom is the greatest anime in history!

Funnily enough I came into this anime only knowing the tsukihime/ melty blood characters.

Still funny either way.

Don’t worry, Lancer died in real life too. It wasn’t a false representation of him. Cu Chulainn died in a fight years after murdering his own son. Maybe it’s better he died by getting murdered in a rocket ship than the irl version.

Lol made me remember how much i laughed when i watched this show like the friendmaker part

I love how in writing, a lancer character type is one that exsists to loae to the main character a lot, and chu culain in myths died epically but gruesomely, and fate decided to capitalise on it by making him a lancer archetype into an actual lancer character, and making him die in literally everything he’s in constantly

I think one should watch this after they've played the tsukihime vn and watched or played the fate stay night series. The jokes from tsukihime are just as good and if you don't know about them you miss out on half its potential. Still, I also watched it after I watched only Fate stay night, so who am I to judge

Jokes aside, it's quickly become clear that Type Moon is recently trying to put these two series back together, starting with Mario being the spitting image of Leon, a human version of Nrvnqsr Chaos showing up in FGO and finally adding Arcueid as a Moon Cancer and including Mash as a guest character in MB.
