What is the price of these boxes. I don’t see any info about price on the website?
ОтветитьOutstanding! I can hardly wait to start. I had never heard of marking thread before. I thought the special basting thread was used for both. I'll re-watch the video as I'll likely have a couple of questions.
Ответитьagain, a great video!!! Can you imagine that I am not able to find Holland linen here in Holland :-))))
ОтветитьLove it! great video
ОтветитьThank you for amazing lesson! It would be graet if there where close up views on the materials to see details and to understand the textures. The idea with a box is great))
ОтветитьThis is the most amazing video and I can’t wait to order the purple box and learn how to make the jacket. Dream come true. Would love to know about preshrinking all the material and if it’s really necessary these days.
ОтветитьThanks Reza.
ОтветитьHi there!
Thank you for your hard work on this video series, these videos are outstanding and the information content is so valuable, I cannot even say how much. I love the green of the Pagoda model's fabric, it's gorgeous and I can almost see how elegant that could be when it's nicely finished (but first of course I have to learn the right techniques for that).
I'd like to ask a question: I'm located in Hungary and currently working on the pattern of a slightly modernized shape late-victorian coat for myself (it's one of my all-time dreams to be able to create one - and later on more other garments the right way). As for the horsehair canvas, I've found only one store in the country where they sell something that looks like bodycanvas to me with one visible issue: According to the pictures it looks like that the dark grain lengthwise is the warp and the crossgrain has a light natural color to it (like if it was natural cotton). Because of that I think that that canvas is not even a bodycanvas, or if it is, it has been cut the wrong way. Is this a common thing to see elsewhere, or is it possible that the colours of the grains are swapped? My apologies for the long comment.
I can't wait to see the upcoming videos!! Thank you again for the outstanding work, I really am grateful for finding this chanel.

Wait a minute! I have been very busy lately and lost track of this very amazing content! How do I get this Purple Box ?! I need to catch up! 🤩
ОтветитьI can’t ask more to learn about the tailoring materials this is so perfect !.. thank you so much 🙏🏼 for all the effort and for making this accessible to many people
ОтветитьHello, regarding silk linings, what would be appropriate? Some thing such as habotai or crepe de chine? Perhaps in the range of 16 m/m ~ 22 m/m for a light weight coat?
Much appreciated
I'm trying to order the Pagoda box online. It keeps going to the order form for the traditional box. Which is sold out anyway!
ОтветитьYes just keeps going to the traditional bundle order form when trying to purchase the purple box.
Ответитьexcept for all the materials, what else would a newbie without anything need to start the journey - pair of scissors, a dummy, a sewing machine...
ОтветитьI love it so much
ОтветитьNearly had a hart attack at the cost😹😹😹 of the wonderful purple box 😻😻converting £ to $ AUS almost $700AUS so looks like I will be sourcing the items online but that’s okay, loved the green was not so sure about the brown/burnt orange look of the traditional one😹😹
I spent 7 years at collage started with dressmaking using commercial patterns, then Mom and I decided to up the anti and took on the course on creating our own patterns. Mom went onto teaching dressmaking, where as I went on to only make and design my own clothes. In all of this there was NO true tailoring taught. So when I fell across this in my recommended watch list for lesson 13 I just had to go to the beginning 😹😹 I am soo glad that I did.
I have about 1/3 of the listed items because I needed them for the corset I’m making, so once I source the rest of the items, I will be taking the course and making the jacket. Just because I’m now 60 does not mean I have to stop learning😹😹😹😹
I am just sorry that Mom could not be with me in taking these classes.
Thank you soooo much for your time in sharing your talents with us all🤗🤗🤗
This is such an amazing resource. So well done. Does anyone know what weight/tex/ticket the marking thread is? I mark with pretty thick thread, but I'm curious about what other people use.
ОтветитьThe moment: “glue it together and that glue you know when a tailor sees that is almost as an insult “ , man that makes me laugh… because it’s true… almost the same weight of things like , I mean I am in United States, you go and buy a jacket for $35 or pair of jeans for $24 in TJMax store … yes, it is kinda cleaning the merchandise and it is mass produced, yet, to make that garment takes skills, knowledge and expensive time and alterations will cost more than the Customer paid for it… which is a global market and business problem, kinda hard to explain, yet we have to deal with it…
Again, yes, very funny…. Only tailors can understand.
I am so grateful for your work. Thank you so much. Why did I find this so late? Please keep these vids up as long as possible, I need time to learn to do things properly. But already my basting has become so much more efficient. I thank you from the bottom of my heart 🙏🙏
ОтветитьWatched the video with my box on my lap. Marked everything with little papers so I know what is what. Will the material be for sale on your website in the future? Or links were to find to items that are in the box? Here in the Netherlands there is hardly anything like that. And now on to the next lesson !!!! Yeah
ОтветитьWhat weight domette would you say is appropriate for a regular suit jacket versus a wool overcoat? Would brushed cotton fabric used for bedding be an ok substitute? Cheers!
ОтветитьWhat would be the recommended shoulder pad thickness? Currently browsing macculloch Wallis and theliningcompany but baffled by which pad thickness to choose
ОтветитьThanks for sharing...you should have more likes for this❤️❤️❤️
Thank you again, God bless you!
This series is incredible! I'm thrilled that I found your channel! Quick question...for a women's jacket, would you use a different material for horsehair or body canvas, to be more flexible over the shape of the bust?
ОтветитьI've learned more from this one video than from several courses and few expensive books. No unnecessary babbling, editorial floof or pushing useless products or elitist agenda. Distilled knowledge and experience. I can't believe I'm just seeing it now - I've found Reza's International School of Tailoring videos yesterday and ever since I'm in a learning frenzy (despite having a biochem exam coming - damnit, I may nor get a 100% but I will be wearing the most dapper of suits 😂). As misunderstood lover of making things from unsuitable materials ( Tailored items from velvet and satins, coats from organza, blazers from layers of tulle and gauze, using fabric bonding like a mad scientist - That's my jam) - I feel called out 😂 Love, love, love these videos and I'll continue spamming comment section to show my appreciation for the wealth of knowledge shared. Approaching making a Mugler-style, extremely shaped blazer is starting to seem possible.
Thank You, thank You so much!
thank you for the verry detaiiled explanation.
ОтветитьWow I have non of those fabric in my country 🙂
ОтветитьWow I have non of those fabric in my country 🙂
ОтветитьWhat wonderful lessons!! After a 3 year basic course in sewing this really gave me an opportunity to develop some tailoring skills🥳🥳
I have a question however as I may have made a slight mistake in choosing my main fabric. I have chosen a beautiful wool pinstripe, however it is quite light and loosely woven. ( if you hold it up you can almost see through it😅). Do you have any tips on what I could use to give it some stability?
just started doing your courses thank you, just subscribed 😀
ОтветитьThank you very much for your time and everything you did
Ответитьive been learning so much from your chanel this shit is fire.
ОтветитьThank you for teaching us, Sir.👏👏👏👏🙂👌👍🙏🥹
ОтветитьGreetings Mr. Reza. Wow! Thank You so much for this channel. You are very generous to have offered this and Your advice and philosophy is a tell tale sign of a master. 🎉
ОтветитьSuch an incredible job you have done. Thank you very very much 🙏💗
ОтветитьDude 430 for the cheapest bundle ? I can buy a s*** load of things with that much money .
Dunno maybe i'm mistaken , correct me if I am wrong .
This is a great video, thank you for all the work and energy you put in it. Just a question I hope is not too silly: do we use the same materials for a classic women's blazer, are there any differences in thickness of canvas or horsehair, in shoulder pads etc. ?
ОтветитьThis is a fantastic You Tube channel. Similar to what others have said, it is so refreshing to see someone in the industry be so generous with sharing this knowledge. Your direction is very clear and concise throughout your videos. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьThank you very much
P.hd course at no cost
i'm amazed there's not more views on this: it really is axceptionall piece. what you generally get are short tiny "virual" tutorials, but this is a propert course.
Ответитьthanks brother!!!
ОтветитьThese are excellent videos. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us.
ОтветитьRezaaaa where can i find marking thread. So hard to find nowadays!!!!
ОтветитьIs it realistic to try to do your pagoda jacket course but make some adaptations to make it a woman’s jacket? Or would the modifications needed be too much? I am an intermediate seamstress with quite a bit of experience sewing both by hand and machine- and I am most interested in learning about the structural needed to create the Pagoda shoulder. I am aware the differences in shaping required through the bust and waist area would be significant, would I still be able to use the same method of shoulder construction? Would the other techniques used in its construction still be helpful to learn for constructing women’s ware?
ОтветитьI just started making jackets and other more intricate garments and I find these videos amazing. Thank you so much. Do you have any resources containing the different names of these materials please. English is my second language and I never heard of some of these fabrics. Thank you so much for all the detailed explanations.
