My switch wasn't fixable due to the broken chip. Then i sent it to Nintendo to see if they could fix it if not, you are my LAST RESORT!!

Might be a dumb question but is is possible to remove the cpu from the boards with corrosion that you wouldn’t feel comfortable selling and replace one on the board with no backlight?

Great videos have been watching several of them and enjoying

With these switches I have seen loads and loads of videos in repairing these things and they all seem to have the same faults with the charging chip and or graphics chip

It makes me wonder why people buy these things with the high rate kf failure on them these videos I would avoid them

And makes one wonder is it worth buying anything using USB C if it's one of the main causes of failure be it switch or a laptop as even laptops have seen a common fault associated with USB C

I think sticking to the old school connector for power use the barrel jack

I have enjoyed your videos for years and it is thanks to you that i was brave enough to fix my ps3 YEARS ago. Now i make it a hobby to buy broken consoles and fix them as a hobby. Best part is I have made plenty of money doind that.

You should revisit the "non fixable" ones. I think you could do it now :)

When you're using the little picks to test it, i don't know what the machine is called, but how can you tell its shorted out? I see the numbers go from 0 to 1 and sometimes higher. How does that machine work?

Wow you’re a great technician! I’m an HVAC technician myself and similar components are in these machines as well capacitors ect. One question I have a switch myself and it’s fine, but why are so many of these broken? People just being rough with them or what, cause this is insane!!?

A lot of those switches with no backlight can be repaired if you replace the backlight chip or checked backlight circuit

Have you had a switch where it does recognize a joycon but charges it? I changed the rail on the switch still not lucky even tried a different pair of remotes.

well, the video itself probably made more money than the whole bunch of switches could potentially ever do...

So my nintendo, 2nd hand bought, it works, got it on like 10% battery, plugged in it says charging and keeps it from discharging and works perfectly fine handheld and docked (plugged in ) but it will not charge up at all! I tried charging over night (multiple days with OEM and New charger ,docked and directly plugged in) the hard reset multiple ways ect.. replaced the battery , at 75% but still will not charge up (but shows charging) , just does like a pass through and keeps it from discharge, port looks fine .....any guess what this could be ??? Any ideas
Thanks

Honestly makes me think the market for faulty Switches is MASSIVELY over-priced. There’s no way that lot should have cost so much.

Sorry to hear that you couldn't break even, but you have some that you can sell on for parts if you so desire, plus all of those that you repaired (and therefore can pass on to someone else to use and enjoy). Also, if some of the Switch's have good backlights but bad motherboards, you could pair those up with the ones with bad backlights/LCDs and hopefully create one good one out of two bad :).

Typical damages are very easy to fix, but the devices that get sent to a disposal that are this new. Typically we have more than just a basic fix behind them keep in mind he can still sell the rest that he don't fix back to us

My little sister dropped my switch and now the front panel (where the vent is at the top) is broken, im really scared to replace it myself, and I also dont want to go through the process of sending it in and risk losing my data. I would love to send mines to you to fix it, even if its a minor fix im still way to scared to do it myself

Sold a new switch used once at a Game Exchange in Burleson Tx. They only gave me 120 bucks. So a broken one for under a 100 is hard to find? Well this is why I put where that Game Exchange is. Right off of 174 Wilshire Blvd. Theives I tell you.
