Is this the greatest era of racing? These drivers are a different breed!
Subscribe for more incredible motorsport!
First year of group B was 82 and Audi won. Lancia won in 83
ОтветитьIf group b existed today it would be unimaginable, modern wrc cars are already insane but they still fly under the rules so imagine what kind of crazy innovations these crazy engineers can come up with. Modern drivers also are crazy today so ill bet a handful of them will be insane enough to actually drive in modern group b
ОтветитьThe best video about group B
Ответить"Dodging seas of spectators"?
Why?
I mean, Death Race 2k and 2K50.
Each one person has a certain amount of points, no? :P
Great overview, thanks
ОтветитьWhen you English speaking people will realize how to pronounce that beautifully Italian name Lancia...
ОтветитьIt wasn't really too fast. In terms of the drivers, the chassis, the suspensions and the drivers, they didn't match the capabilities of the engines.
Today, the rally cars go much faster and the race is safer than the Group B days.
I'll watch racing again when a no-restrictions league happens. Like F1, what a total joke. Top racing series on Earth? Maybe if the cars were actually as fast as technologically possible, otherwise its just a farce.
ОтветитьWe NEED Group B back!
ОтветитьGroup "B" probably means Group BALLS . Those guys have balls of steel for handling such fast cars with air time and stuff such as large crowds occupying the track.
Ответитьdid you mispeak? or how does more weight over the front cause understeer? you say the opposite in other videos
ОтветитьI am a bit conflicted about the whole idea of no barriers to spectators. On the one hand you want to protect lives, not end them. However, on the other hand I definitely believe that if you really didn't want to get hit, you would just not stand there. Every person in the world is smart enough to not get hit intentionally by a car.
ОтветитьLancia Vs Audi
Lancia with: 2wd car with 620 horse power (google said)
Audi with: 4wd car with 500 horse power (again from google)
You can survive, but that's optional
ОтветитьThis was the ultimate driver's series.
Ответитьwow
ОтветитьWhy are you saying what people know the rs200 killed people in PoPortugal .Why are you saying how .It's hard to I've driven I don't need a licence .You have upset bud .
Ответитьit's not Äüdi
ОтветитьHonestly For rally and especially group B I don't care how close they are to Stock Cars. I do however, care about NASCAR being close to stock cars, it would be sick to see cars that look like everyday sports cars all racing around a track.
ОтветитьThe S1 E2 quattro was 600bhp in 86'
ОтветитьCoke sure was stronger back then
ОтветитьIsn't this just the best?!🤩
ОтветитьThese where the best drivers around
Ответитьlegendary, if they brought this back and o had the fonds i would do it for the love at my age 44
Ответитьdanger is what makes stuff fun. health and safety police ruined everything. If you don't want to die as a spectator, don't go. If you don't want to die as a driver, don't race. You know the risks. Let people do what they want.
ОтветитьThe funny thing is that rally cars are much faster nowadays. They're getting closer and closer to 500hp.
ОтветитьThis is so awesome
ОтветитьYou don't pronounce Peugeot like PERSIA.
ОтветитьAudi had due to its longitudinal engine layout a lot of overhang over the frontwheels, audi was and still is understeering because of being nose heavy in front of the front axle
ОтветитьMan handling? That is a slap in the face for Michelle Mouton….😮
ОтветитьWhy is safety even an issue? If you don't want to die, don't drive or stand in the way of a race car. McDonald's is hiring people who don't want to drive race cars, and television will entertain people who don't want to get run over.
ОтветитьThe aera of Walther Röhrl and peers.
ОтветитьFrom what I've read the engineers for the Audi had to install a push button shifter that made a lever manually press down on the clutch, since the driver had to flutter the throttle and brake almost constantly to keep some semblance of control and didn't have time to move his foot elsewhere.
Ответитьregulations are killing motor sport
ОтветитьI wonder if Group B gonna cut it out in Touring car or Endurance series (Le Mans include) if there were no armies of Porsche
ОтветитьIts funny that you can get roadcars that are faster than group b cars and modern wrc cars are faster too. As some posters have said its the spectators that haven't improved!
ОтветитьNearing the 1000 horse power, that never really made it, but 600 is still something.
ОтветитьSoooooo just move spectators out of the middle of the road, and stop racing on shear cliff faces, seems like a pretty simple fix to me.........
ОтветитьThe crazy thing is that the 037 remained a viable option for private teams for a couple years after lancia took the championship with it. Maybe not exactly competitive when put against the AWD teams, but definitely a competent vehicle with handled correctly.
ОтветитьToo fast?! Lol. The category that came after Group B was faster..
ОтветитьI miss those days of rallying ... oh that Peugeot 205 ... what a car.
Rally ... the reason NASCAR has zero appeal to me.
get the idiots out of the way and let em rip...guarantee there's drivers wanting and willing, maybe make racing great again...ever watch nhra nationals? most boring loud waste of resources ever it's just a party with loud cars that all run within .0000001 seconds of eachother in the 1/4 mile noone even pays attention to the race
ОтветитьThere were plans by one of the manufacturers (Audi I think) to introduce a car with a 1000hp engine for rallying, which is quite honestly just insanity
ОтветитьTakes out 34 spectators: "yeah that sucks"
A driver dies: "this is way too unsafe D:<"
LANCIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Ответитьinsane. thanks for this recap. got interested in rally as a kid in the 90s and still love to watch and play rally games since then.
