His situation reminds me of something that happened with my dad. About a year ago, my dad bought me, my mom and my two older sisters concert tickets for an old country singer who I didn’t know. He knows that I hate country music, so I had no idea why he thought I would want that. He told us 2 weeks before the concert about the tickets and I immediately told him that I didn’t want to go so to give my ticket to someone else. He got mad and told me to pay him back for the ticket instead. I said I wasn’t gonna pay him back for something I never asked for. My sisters didn’t want to go to the concert either, but they got pissed at me and called me ungrateful and spoiled. The whole time I felt sense of guilt because he was my dad and he was just trying to do something nice for me. In the end, they couldn’t find someone to take my ticket, and I had gotten sick the day of the concert so I couldn’t go regardless, so I paid him $75 freaking dollars for something I NEVER WANTED!
I understand the pressure this guy was under. She spent so much money on him, even though he never asked for it and probably would’ve been seen as a bad guy if he rejected it. I’m glad he ended up not going in the end because she probably would’ve tried to pull something like that again.
