appreciate the percentage differences!
ОтветитьI will choose the 980 ți over the 1080ti since the 980 ți is the best gpu for windows xp retro gaming
Ответитьi buyed MSI NVIDIA GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G with 550 watt bequiet System Power for 300€ this year and im very happy with i7 10700k and gtx 1080
ОтветитьWait. So Intel already put out a 14 series card even though they are supposedly changing the naming scheme? They couldn't even make a xlean generarion break?
ОтветитьBuilt my pc in 2017. Been playing warzone and total war for years until last week. The latest warzone fucks my 1080 up. Its time to upgrade.
ОтветитьImagine yourself in 2016 when you getting this huge difference in performance in about 200$ difference for the brand new
ОтветитьIt's clear the games aren't using the same settings.Even a 2 year old could tell the difference in the fortnite test
ОтветитьNow that I got a new monitor that supports 1080p 165 Hz I might need to upgrade my GTX 980 to a new dedicated GPU to utilize higher framerates (along with a CPU upgrade, Windows 10 support also ends soon, lol)
ОтветитьIt's very interesting and valuable to consumers that you test older hardware and show us how it holds up.
ОтветитьGot a 1080 used for 100 bucks not to long ago. its still a nice card for the back up pc.
Also, that gtx 980 is slower then normal becuz its using over 3.5 gb vram. So the slow 512 mb triggers, crawling the fps even more.
now I get why tech reviewers pair the tested GPUs with the best performing CPUs they have or at least try to obtain prior to testing, its for the scenarios one might keep their GPU down the line and years when they start a build with lesser CPUs than the showcased! Of course this is not the end all and be all use case but its finally shed light on my sight
ОтветитьDestroys it and it has 8gb vram. I have a 970 which I got for like 6 dollars and i'm more than happy with it
ОтветитьInteresting result from that calculation. This leads to believe that, in terms of FPS, the 980 is actually better value for money than the 1080, however, I'd only put the 980 in an older system that is less likely to be playing the most modern games. The 1080 is still feasible as a daily GPU for most modern releases, assuming you manage your expectations, and in the more intensive titles the difference in FPS may mean the difference between playable and unplayable.
Personally as a main rig (and especially with a 14900k) I would be going for at least something in the 30 series, preferably the 40 series if I had the spare cash. I reckon the i9-14900K and RTX 4090 would go well together.
i kinda like the concept of side by side comparison of generations, would love to see more videos like that!
HD7970 VS R9 290X would be nice, also RX580 vs mid range RDNA2 (6600XT maybe)
Still have a 1070oc in my pc. Its just starting to show signs of getting old only with new maxed out games. Still totally respectable frame rates though
Ответитьnow compare the gtx1080 to rx6600
ОтветитьThe buffet plate is 1080ti
ОтветитьNot even watching the video the 980 was a power hog the 1080 had double the power for half the power consumption
Ответитьhi randomgaminginhd, what would be a good cpu that will run roblox with 100+ or 80+ fps?
Ответитьtime to compare the 980 ti to the 1660 ti
ОтветитьBought a 1080ti for my nephews build. Hopefully he gets a 2-3 years out of it. Only paid $225 for it
ОтветитьLoving the content as always, I've been subbed for years now long before your car channel existed lol 😆
Ответитьnotice how there barely is a jump in power consumption whhile the performance is way better.....ah those were the days, no 400 watt gpu's
ОтветитьYou can sometimes get a 1070 for £100 or a 1070Ti if you're lucky 😉
ОтветитьThis CPU Power consumption in games is crazy
Ответитьgot a gtx 980 for £35 recently
ОтветитьThe time back when GPUs of the newer generation weren't weaker than the older one
ОтветитьWhat was great about the 980 you can oc it like crazy. Well not the blower style but yeah
ОтветитьYou should test to see if chimeraos (a version of steamos for regular computers) nets any noticeable FPS improvements over windows.
ОтветитьIt's great to see how 1080 still holds on. I also just upgraded from RX 570 4GB to 5700XT OC Evoke which I got off my friend for 150$. It's still a great card for the money.
ОтветитьFor both cards, the Ti is significantly better. I recently went 980ti to Titan Xp (slightly better than a 1080ti). The upgrade cost me $110 after proceeds from selling my old card and it was well worth it. At the same time I upgraded from 1080p60 to 1080p165 and the upgrade allowed me to utilize this monitor (which also cost me about $70 after selling my old monitor). I do think the cheapest nvidia card I’d buy now is the 1070 for the 8gb of vram. They’re not much more expensive than the 980. Or you could go amd and get a rx580 8gb. That’s honestly the true extreme budget champ today.
ОтветитьThe fact the card is that much faster, and uses less power is amazing value, along with more vram, makes it more future proof.
ОтветитьThe 1080 is probably the best gpu ever made. Not the fastest today, but incredible how long it is a viable option.
ОтветитьA low power GPU would be a nice Vid. Are there any cheap cards that run on 6pin power theses days? Preferably close a generation or 2 old
ОтветитьMe and my 980ti hybrid hoping you give us a glowing review and that i dont need a 1080ti 🤣
ОтветитьNot surprised but still so impressive. It single-handedly made the last generation of cards completely obsolete
ОтветитьI have a 1080 in my spares box as an emergency graphics card, I was about to chuck it away but you just gave it a stay of execution! 😂😂
ОтветитьDevs trying to kill these cardss on pupose
ОтветитьWhere I live the 1080 is about 2.5-3x the price of the 980. I’d be interested to know how the 980ti bs 1070 performs these days. It used to be that they were very similar but 1070 should be better these days due to more RAM and newer architecture. 980ti can be had for about 20-25% cheaper though. At least here.
ОтветитьGreat video 😀
ОтветитьBottom line, the 980 just isn’t worth considering anymore due to performance struggles and impending driver update cut offs.
ОтветитьCrazy seeing the color and in game graphic/display differences between the two GPUs with exactly the same graphic settings.
ОтветитьStill blows my mind how bad, lifeless and empty Starfield manages to look and feel while essentially having a performance cost and scalability comparable to Crysis in 2007. It has literally not 1 next gen feature, no RT, horrific character models and animations that would have looked bad 5-6 years ago... Not to mention it only has to render small chunks and areas as there's a loading screen every 5 seconds. Cyberpunk has 0 business looking 5x better, having a way more seamless and lively feeling world, while running like 20-30 frames higher lol - Fuck Starfield sucks . Sorry for going off topic but I have to dunk on that game every chance I get
ОтветитьI forgot how bad RDR2 looks with TAA.
ОтветитьA 980 Ti vs 1080 Ti comparison would be interesting. Upgraded from 980 Ti to 1080 Ti back in the day but totally forgot to make any comparison.
ОтветитьGotta love the old Nvidia design with their reference coolers.
ОтветитьDo a video like this for the 1070 Ti and 2070 Super.
Ответитьwe need tge 8gb 980 against the 1080
Ответить
