Doing pure compositing in the color page doesn't look much fun, something like this is what Fusion is made for.

actually its easier to use magic mast, and if the details are not in the video, relight will not bring them out.
i have tried getting more details n every way with this, nothing JMHO

What are the minimum requirements for an iMac to be able to take advantage or Relight etc. would you say, as I am going to have to upgrade… my current 16g Ram 2021 IMac doesn’t stand a chance… and it is really starting to annoy me that I can’t use these new features - please advise and many thanks in advance! Hi Casey, cool video. Like what you are doing.

However, on tip: I just finished the BMD Colorgrade tutorial (and passed the exam ;-) ) and they stated (Daria Fissouri) that the BMD devs stated that for Magic Mask tracking on PEOPLE, the best is just a small stroke (on for example the eye), instead of longer strokes. However, for the Magic Mask on things they DO think the best practice is long strokes.

How would it work with a depth mask? Im going to have to mess around with it

Great info. Would depth map give a cleaner result? If so, what's the best way to optimize? Most definitely would bog down the PC. Maybe that's for another quick vid...🙃🙂🙃

Thanks for the tutorial, Casey! One thing I noticed is that the light was still falling off the outline of the subject like a glow. Would it be better to put the alpha mask on the Surface Map node rather than the Relight node? Or how does one negate that? Thanks!

Could you (pretty please) do a video on using the spotlight feature of relight? I have some theatre footage I'd like to add lighting to and can't make fake spotlights look good ;-)
