Could you possibly knock your ratchet on the car a few more times?
ОтветитьIm going to do this myself on the weekend by using an Allen Key T20 Torx. I intend removing the existing unit and thoroughly cleaning the surface behind and even applying some Electronic Component spray to the connector piece. I ve got the OEM replacement part and I will fix it but I m keeping my old part too. Its a shame that BMW makes one buy the whole unit just because the rubber hatch release cover is worn down. But it has to be done, no way out!
ОтветитьThanks I need to do this. My hatch release button rubber cover is cracked hence I have to change this whole big part!

ОтветитьYou cut out the part where you spent 5 minutes figuring out how to disconnect the electrical connector. That was the hardest part. For anyone else trying to do this, you have to take an awl or something else pointy, and press the tiny square clip-lip to release the connector. Or use a small flat head screwdriver and push it between the connectors. Be gentle. Look at your new part and you can see where the harness from the car locks in. Sorry I don't have a picture.
