I thought this was ancient and medieval battles, so I didnt consider the Battle of Helmsdeep as its fiction. But seeing the battle of blackwater, the fact that the battle of helmsdeep isnt there is shamefull, it is a cinematic masterpiece.

Film makers have no clue how to show an ancient or medieval battle. All of these are just men (with the now obligatory token women of course) running screaming at each other and then having a mad melee fight. They didn't happen like that. They advanced slowly towards each other in formation and tight lines until they met and then pushed and struck.

Fun fact! Most of field battles was without swords because its not so effective against plate armor

I've never seen a real reenactment of a fight in a movie. It all looks like rugby players and a drunken fight in a bar... Anyone who is interested in medieval military history, I think they will understand me. These scenes are also as true as Captain America in a World War II documentary.
