I just found your channel. I’m looking for an art form to try and I think I would really enjoy this. I like watching you work. But as a complete beginner with zero experience with painting or collage I’m wondering if you can direct me to some very basic info about what supplies I should be gathering/buying and where the best places to get things are. Also what should I set up in terms of a work space? I’d love any direction you could offer. I’d really like to get going with this and want to not feel frustrated because I don’t know what to use. Lol. Thank you!

I may have missed it but what do you use to adhere the collage pieces down?

I know this may be difficult to answer as collage is really intuitive, but I’m someone who has great difficulty mixing patterns, even in clothes… my brain has not been able to relax into the intuitive process.

Do you have any suggestions for beginners when it comes to choosing papers that would “go” together? Like are there concepts to consider when you’re first starting out that help in creating a *cohesive*, balanced piece?

I love this one especially right now, because I feel the urge and longing to create but at the same time I'm so drained of energy and the last couple of days everything I've been doing has made me feel kind of numb, If that makes any sence... Thank you again for such a companionable inspiring video. One thing I’ve started to do (inspired by your videos) is take cardboard boxes apart. If they are slightly damp the laminations separate leaving smooth paper, corrugated paper and slightly corrugated paper. These can create interesting textures, and the corrugated paper can be used to print as well. If I’m going to do this I put varnish or washable pva on it first to make it last longer. You do encourage us to think outside the box! 😊
