Providers of private 4WD tracks often lack comprehensive knowledge about the diverse range of all-wheel drive vehicles available in the market. An incident at Skytrek at Willow Springs highlighted this issue when we were denied access solely based on the appearance of our vehicle. Interestingly, we discovered that vehicles such as the BMW X3, despite resembling 4WDs and sharing similar drivetrains, have been granted access in the past. Moreover, discussions with others revealed that the verification of 4WD experience, despite being a rule, is not consistently enforced. Is this a growing problem in the South Australian Tourism industry?
