Is the Altiude relaltive to the user ?

How can you see your height and distance on your controller when running Active track etc?

Hey what is your honest opinion on waypoints with Litchi? All the videos I see online have some jitter or just not smooth movements, especially when facing POI. Hows your experience been with waypoints on Lichi? Could you make a video or provide tips on how to make that more smooth.

I know that some of it has to do with Lichi using 'virtual sticks' since DJI disabled autonomous flight with the SDK. But that still doesn't make sense to me because when you give the same inputs but via physical stick inputs it is really smooth.

Would really appreciate helping out here, and I'm sure lots of others would too!

Man, you saved my big $s. I was thinking of upgrading from Mini 2 Se to Mini 3 Pro, which is a lot of money just for having the Active Tracking feature, mainly, I downloaded the Litchi app, and love my Mini 2 SE more than ever! For the avoidance collision feature which is a good DJI feature (mostly overrated) , i don't mind that much really. I ALWAYS fly my drone higher than the highest tree or building away from my direct eye sight or always under my direct sight. So simple!

Does this mean you use Litchi app to fly and not the DJI app? Or do they run at the same time?

You're recording but the litchi can't give you the video right? It says mini 2 is not yet set or programmed to accept recorded videos from litchi. Ok then When? Hehe

I have the mini 2 and I love the follow me mode. Just learning different camera angles if I should do course lock and in which direction

If using a tablet for follow mode, does Litchi require I am connect to cellular service or wifi, or simply that GPS / location services is turned on in the tablet. I'd b using an older Samsung Tab A8.

As a new drone pilot with a mini2, will using this software affect my dji refresh subscription?

Tracking something at 30M height and directly above is not a good look....

If litchi is tracking the signal does that mean if I use follow mode I need to have my controller and phone with me when im riding my bike?

The reason why DJI does not enable follow-me is because DJI people are stupid and ask for a new drone if they crash it. DJI only adds active-track when the model has obstacle avoidance sensors. Because active-track is optical it requires a huge amount of programming and processor capacity. Especially in combination with sensors. The advantage of active track is you can track anyone or anything. With follow-me the object has to carry the device with GPS. Still I much prefer follow-me. The most accurate GPS follow-me drone is the Fimi A3. If I move an inch the Fimi A3 immediately responds. But the Mavic Mini and Mini 2 also do a pretty nice job with third party apps like Litchi. To me it is totally ridiculous DJI cripples their products by not adding GPS follow-me.

Follow-me is GPS. Active-track is optical. There are basically two types of follow-me: string and compass. With string type it will eventually slide to the side and continue to follow from behind only. With compass type it will stay north south east or west of you without yawing.

After everything I've watched tonight to reaffirm my mini se was a good purchase this video did confirm I made a good purchase. Ill he taking videos of farming and I think the follow me will be great when I'm in the tractor . Litchi will be very nice to have

Yep, ActiveTrack on the Mini 3 Pro’s smoother but Mini 2 did pretty well too. ActiveTrack is just one of the features I’m looking forward for the Mini 3 Pro. I’m excited to fly it with the DJI RC.

Mini 2 does not dissapoint but would love to upgrade to Mini 3 Pro. This video’s timely. I have a decision to make. Thanks for the comparison!

Good info, new drone user (mini 3 pro)and i was wondering about the difference of follow me and active track.
I have had best results of keeping it closer and lower using active track and just let the obstacle avoidance do its work.

What would be the best option for me , I four wheel drive and would like a drone to follow me from the front and back at a close distance say 2 metres of the ground and 5 metres away?

I agree the mini2 and litchi make a great combination. I have not used the DJI fly app since. One thing I do is set the home point to be dynamic with the controller just in case. After going a mile or more you do not want it attempting to return to the launch point.

Tracking is never that good on most drones. I do not understand why they keep offering tracking as it does a lousy job compared to follow me.

My inspire 1 has a follow me mode and I love it. Definitely DJI should add this mode to all of their drones.

Yeah I totally agree with you the litchi is a very good app I use it for my mini one I do have a mini 2 but don't want to use that app for my mini 2 just quite yet. As food a mini 3 Pro I've heard lots of bad situations with at the moment it's a case of people just wait that way all the bugs can be iron out on that product

What time should i be at the pub ? 🤣 Also i feel your pain with the active track i used a whole 45 min battery just to get 30 secs of footage with active track. had green jacket on , then removed to black shirt with red stone and green grass background and it struggled big time yesterday. just getting it to lock on was painful, great to see litchi now able to play around with the mini2 looks like a better way to do it for sure. Be even better if they could use skydio track the remote style set up for the mini 3.
