@krugdiy what level is that?
ОтветитьVery hard to see inside the house, need some lighting.
Would make this good video even better.
Very helpful. I have installed replacement windows but I have window i want to replace a window completely. This gives me an idea what to expect.
ОтветитьGood info. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьI know what you say about picking a smaller size. Try putting a window in a mobile home! Available sizes: 30x54 and 30x48. My rough opening measured 30X52. One length of 2x4 and one piece of 1/2" plywood took care of the problem. I had a guy tell me that I shouldn't have done it, but what can a person do? I sure can't afford custom built windows!
Ответитьroll of pella 6 inch anywhere🤔
ОтветитьSo sad and disappointing. U destroyed a historic window for a shitty plastic one. Those old wood windows last forever and should’ve been refinished NOT replaced!
Anyone with old wood windows: DO NOT REPLACE THEM!
That old solid wood window lasted forever was just replaced with a crappy plastic window that won’t last a 1/4 time of that old window🤦♀️
The new plastic “vinyl” ones are not more energy efficient. It was a lie told by window companies to sell windows that the new ones are more energy efficient. It’s a complete lie.
Refinish NOT replace!
Can’t see nothing, to dark inside
ОтветитьBro you even didn't show how you got to old one out!!!!
ОтветитьYo your video is dark can;t see what you talking about!!!
ОтветитьI am using your methods. I need to replace windows in a old house.
Ответитьdon't bother flashing it or anything.
ОтветитьYou can't just stick a new window into a hole and hope caulking over bare wood will keep the weather out. So much is missing from this tutorial if you want to do it right... I suggest watching some other tutorials for anyone who wants to make sure the new window in their old house is rot-proof, insulated and weather-sealed.
ОтветитьNext time turn on the lights I don't see a shit
ОтветитьOh man. Those windows could be restored and stormers put up. Those windows last hundreds of years. You just have to scrape and sand, then three thick coats oil paint, painted little bit over glass, and razor blade it up to the wood and just stay on top of that oil. Vinyl only lasts 30 years, and cannot be recycled. Keep up with oil on the wood and it lasts hundreds of years. Kills me to watch people take out windows that just need TLC.
ОтветитьThank-you Sir. You video helped me alot... and Thank-you again for taking the time to explain everything good day from San Antonio TX 01/13/23
ОтветитьTypically you would be dealing with plywood sheathing but this here is done board by board like a log cabin
ОтветитьDUDE!!! Maybe LIGHTS on the inside when recording next time so we can see??!!
ОтветитьNice video but I would get some windows tape to water proof the opening.
ОтветитьExcellent video I wanted to see how you close around the edges.
ОтветитьHow did you add siding to this window? What insulation did you use between the window and siding?
ОтветитьAs a PROFESSIONAL window replacement man YOU"RE A COMPLETE IDIOT. Here's the deal, you can do it your way and pay in the neighborhood of $300 per opening to rebuild everything OR you can VERY SIMPLY take the sashes out in less than 10 minutes, clean the dirt out of the opening and SIMPLY PUT THE RIGHT SIZE REPLACEMENT INTO PLACE and spend less than an hour for which I make out quite well for $85 in labor without the NIGHTMARES of reconstructing something that's already constructed and straight with the house. But I know people like you very well who put level windows in a house that's straight but not level and in the end you LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT because you are.
Ok Ma'am I can do what you want done but doing this your way will destroy the look of your house by having all the trim on the outside different in size that'll look like shit in the end. Well here I am fixing to make new trim on the outside....... I need 3.5 inches on the top and 3.25 inches on the bottom and the exact opposite on the other side because I leveled the window in a not level house. Replacing windows according to industry standard means there's no reason to mess with the interior trim at all...... but I need the money and you (the customer) are ignorant as to how simple to change windows really is.
You work great in the dark!
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьIt would have been nice if we could have seen the interior walls and the actual work from start to finish.
ОтветитьNeed more light while producing the inside
ОтветитьGive me back my time
ОтветитьYou literally talk too much bs info instead of showing and teaching
ОтветитьWhere do you plan on putting the insulation? Looks like the window is sitting right on the 2x6 top and sides?
ОтветитьOur 🇩🇪 Weekend Houses have such thin Walls, but not allowed for permanent Residence. 3 times thick Walls and modern German Windows in average residential Housing throughout.
ОтветитьCan you come to my house....I have a few old double hung windows with those weights that need to be replaced! 🤣 Good Video!!! Thanks!
ОтветитьShitty video, can’t see shit inside
ОтветитьYou are hillarious.
ОтветитьCan't see it damn thing it's so dark on that video
ОтветитьYou forgot to talk about the water seal strip around the window fram
ОтветитьThanks for sharing,your knowledge.
ОтветитьI appreciate the video! I wish you had walked through your reasoning for the exterior trim. I noticed you made a recessed cut and I’m wondering why you did that and why it’s with the match the width of the up and down segments
ОтветитьIt is what it is did your best
ОтветитьThank you so much this was very helpful!!!
ОтветитьIt's always good to use some sort of backing rod to seal gabs in window.
I just had to redo 10 windows inside out side fun stuff.
Go in fast but they finish slow. Usually the opposite for me, unfortunately.
ОтветитьFor the love of God please don't let anyone install windows like this. This installer failed every step of the way in terms of water control. They cut away all the tar paper from the window flange and didn't show any flashing details.
ОтветитьAzek exterior trim kiss pine goodbye outside -
Ответитьi wish you would have showed some more of the "work" parts.
ОтветитьSounds like Michael Keaton
ОтветитьYou skip so many importants things... Removing the old one and put the new ine. Why ?
ОтветитьShould of scored the top of the window. Took off more paint than you did window😂😂😂
ОтветитьGreat video! You just need to add flashing.
I am redoing the windows in the house my Dad built. He didn’t flash the windows and I had to use larger windows in order to cut out the rotted wood at the bottom. Modern caulking is great BUT miss a small place and water WILL get in!
Thumbs up. I want to leave with this, for good windows in affordable price I suggest Dako.
