CPUs vs GPUs As Fast As Possible

I love that this content is done in an easy to understand way, but it would be nice to reference (not explain) some of the processes/computing at one more level of detail - eg. mention how linear algebra is used in graphics processing and requires doing the same operation 100X times, while a CPU has to do 500 operations 1 time - just something qualitative without going into the algorithmic details.

So the CPU is like a captian who gives orders to soldiers and manage every micro transactions and Co ordinates the plan to carry out the mission efficiently. An GPU is like a group of soldiers who each carry out the specific task assigned to them. So Cpu is Mind and gpu is power. Power=work/time so gpu also increases frames/second because they make the job faster.

I thought you were very articulate and you explain it in words I can understand or any body really.ever thought about being a teacher? If you did I'll take your class and I would pass too thanks 👍

There is no reason a motherboard couldn't be made with a GPU slot, but then you would need dedicated memory, heatsink, and you would have to have multiple boards to support AMD/Intel/nVidea graphics.

I use GPUs for computational fluid dynamics (CFD). One Nvidia A100 (250W) is as fast as ~7500 Xeon CPU cores (~100kW). What matters here is the much higher memory bandwidth. GPUs are a game-changer for computational physics, even cheaper gaming GPUs.

In the Nvidia control panel is gave me an option to pick my gpu or cpu to display my monitor. I changed it to the cpu option but apply and acting like it was changing something. I notice it seems to be rendering more stable specially when I click the mouse to a different monitor. The other monitor doesn't drop frames like it did before. Did I really change anything, and what is the reason for these options?
