Fishing Knots: Alberto Knot - How to Tie Braid to Fluorocarbon or Braid to Mono

Not sure why… for me the flouro slips before the line breaks. Been testing on the bench. Any suggestions? Stronger than my previous connection know however not sure how to minimize the slip.

As a newer bass fisherman i've been having a lot of trouble with getting the right knot to work with a braid to floro type of setup. It's embarrassing but I've been tying this knot for years and never realized I had to put the tag end through the loop the same way as the original line, thanks for that! I'm sure that's why some of my Alberto knots fail when I test them.

Very similar to the Albright.

I use this knot exclusively and it has never failed me. It's very easy to tie once you practice it a few times.

Did this workinng with a very tiny braid and thiny fluorocarbon? 0.16 and braid 0.11!

I need to do it with 10 lb braid and 4 lb mono. I can't even see this stuff to tie it.

I really like this knot. 35lb braid to 8lb mono leader. Caught a good size common carp at a river this Sat. Knot held up fine. Got hung up multiple times on rocks and or fallen trees under the water. Not one time did the line break at the knot always before it luckily. Hooked up with something big probably another carp but it felt like a tree limb until it started moving. Needless to say, I was applying a lot of force and the knot held once again. Seems like a decent knot to me.

Sorry haven’t read all the comments. Can someone definitively say if the Alberto or Uni-Uni is stronger? Alberto seems easier and that’s why I use it, but I find it hard to make sure the loops back are laid well. I lost what I’m sure my biggest striper at the braid to leader connection and it haunts me that I may have tied a slightly imperfect Alberto knot😢

Great video if you run your braid through the loop an extra 2 times at the end it gives you a little extra insurance that your tag end won’t slip. I’ve been using this knot for over 20 years and has never failed me. Use to be called an Albright knot.

8 wraps wasn’t enough for me. The knot failed. Oddly while in the rod holder after fighting several fish.

How strong is this compared to the FG?
Seems like most say FG is the best(?) knot for joining braid and Flouro etc.

But I struggle with FG. This might be more my level? But is it strong for saltwater GT’s 10+ lbs
