I feel like not enough people people are talking about how good of a learning / training tool Mario Builder could potentially be for practicing speedrun techniques

Kaze will your mario game work like other rom hacks where a patch is applied and if this is the case do you think it would work with a recompiled version of mario 64 so that we can have the advantages of recompiled versions such as high frame rates?

This is so cool! It reminds me of the Mario 63 (Flash game) level editor. It felt so ahead of its time for 2009, and now we have one for Mario 64, that can actually run on an N64!

I miss the N64. I generally miss the times of simpler games. Everything today needs to be huge and epic and f***ing photorealistic. Simplicity gets treated like something bad, and since modern systems just have the power they do, game makers feel like the power and possibilities always need to be used to the limits.

Only because every toaster is capable of nice 3D graphics today, doesn't mean everything needs to be 3D or even utilize 3D graphics. If we take Samus Returns on the 3DS or Metroid Dredd as an example, I think those games look sooooooooooo boring. Appealing 16bits 2D graphics are so much more interesting. Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion look infinately more interesting to me, than those sidescrolling 3D games.

And even when it comes to 3D games, I like the simpler times of N64 and the like. If I was an Indie game maker, I would probably go for N64 style graphics, delivering them in 480p resolution.

Now remake a megaman X level in this!

Have you tried classicube on Nintendo 64? There's apparently some binaries you can compile. It's basically Minecraft, but for just about every single computer, and console that can output 3D graphics.
