So I have a silly question- if a person does this process instead of cutting their cuticles, where does the excess cuticle skin "go"?

Mine grow quite wild and fast to be honest. I don't "cut" them as much, but I can literally scrape some of the excess overgrowth off with my other nails after I've had a shower.

How frequent do you do this routine?

I don't cut my cuticle unless there are hanging split bits, and I think the Russian mannicure is too extreme and doesn't make sense to my pain sensory and my sense of risk having pus infection, so I just simply cut my nails but always leave my cuticle intact though there might be some area with thickening pieces of cuticle and asymmetrical growing cuticles LOL

How about not cutting the cuticle and then following the other steps?

My cuticles aren't bad, it's the skin right at the tips of my nails, not all of them though. And the fingers they are on, are usually on both sides. I hate it. So I do believe I need to moisturize the "bleep" out of them!!!

Pushing back that cuticle and even trimming around the nail fold seems unnecessary. It serves a purpose which is to protect the nail.
