As a French who lives in Paris , these are very good tips, of course if you like museums do them but a bike ride listening to music in the streets of Paris is worth 1000 times some overpriced activities !
ОтветитьHuge Thank, Bless you All, What a Great IDEA to make such a lesson... I've been in Paris several times, Enjoying So Much, Left Taste of More. Great Love from Israel 2.10.2023
Ответить1st mistake, go to France
2nd mistake, stay in France and go to Paris
Pretty much goes for most European cities and some American cities too. Of course the public transport in the US is garbage in most of the country.I am sad when I hear co-workers went to Europe and spent all their time in London, Paris, and Rome. Flying inside Britain is often much cheaper than trains, but a car is the only way to get to most interesting spots in a practical time. Same from my experience in rural France. Forget visiting Normandy by public transit unless you have all your time for travel.
ОтветитьFor decades: Wanting to go to Paris for historic sites.
Today: Wanting to go see filming locations for John Wick 4.
I had a strange experience when leaving Paris and trying to make my way to Charles De Gaulle airport. All instructions over the speaker-system were in French ONLY. Suddenly, at one stop, a voice rattled something in French, and then EVERYONE got up and exited the train. I was like... ummm... what is happening? Should I get off this train too? I even noticed one lovely young lady pause and make eye contact with me, as if she was thinking of saying something.
But she continued on. And so did the train. It passed one stop. Then another. Then another. I realized, oh crap, this train is being taken out of service. It went waaaaaaay out of Paris to the end of the line. The train rolled to a quiet stop, and that was it. The doors didn't open. I actually had to pry the door open to get out. So here I am with luggage in tow, rambling through a train yard with no idea what to do next. Fortunately, there was one guy sitting on a step and smoking a cigarette. I said "Charles De Gaulle?". He understood and motioned for me to walk to the platform about 500 feet away. I did. Sure enough, a ghostly train rolled up. I was the first and only passenger. The train headed back to Paris, but I was able to step off at my correct platform and head to the airport. I made my flight!
Moral of the story? Learn a little French. Also, give yourself a lot of extra time to get to wherever you are wanting to go, because there may be surprise obstacles and challenges.
I say 2 weeks is a good enough time. Might be in debt when get home.
ОтветитьWhy would anyone go to Paris for only two or three days? Especially if they're coming from the states.
ОтветитьThat sounds very much like the mistakes that NORTH AMERICAN tourists make . . .
ОтветитьAnother tip: Paris/France is a horrible vacation choice
ОтветитьThe biggest mistake is going there.
ОтветитьThe content we need
ОтветитьNever again
ОтветитьLyon is a small version of Paris, even with a small Eiffel Tower. Worth a visit
ОтветитьI stayed 5;6 days and have to say I enjoyed my second time in Paris, walked everywhere or metro everywhere, discovered galleries with not many tourists. Most people spoke to me in English when I quiet comfortable spoke some French and understood everything they said. Even found the catacombs, however, arthritis stopped me from the stairs.
My only downfall was the small hotel I chose to stay. Safe yes, clean yes, but not in the best part of Paris, the Middle Eastern neighbourhood, during the day nice and safe but img at night not so good.
Going there in the first place is the main mistake
ОтветитьI agree with everything except the hotel thing.
Boutique hotels are always terrible service.
I don’t travel just to eat. We all eat too much.
ОтветитьI just happened across this site by accident. Down to earth excellent advice. Exactly what we need when traveling. Big Thanks.
ОтветитьBiggest mistake is going there first....Don't waste your money..
ОтветитьLove your videos !!!! Watching from Uruguay 🇺🇾🇺🇾
ОтветитьYou guys are great I enjoyed this video is very informative I appreciate it.Thanks
Ответить❤good s jobs. Lesson for life. From Boise Idaho usa
ОтветитьI visited Paris in 2012 for the weekend stayed at a very nice hotel (starts with M don’t remember the name)walking distance from the Eiffel Tower I could see it from our room cost of room was about $90 per night. We walked to the Tower got on a hop on-hop off bus and went everywhere well at least the major sights. I love love loved it.
ОтветитьIs it good to learn Arabic before visiting Paris?
ОтветитьNice video... You are right people always want todo too much. I know Americans who do 5 cities in 7 days, or some as crazy.... Spend time... 7 days in one city... not tick box tourism.
ОтветитьDon’t dip your toes in the seine river …they’ll fall off…. Toxic personified. Stay out of district 93. Cops don’t even go into this district
ОтветитьAs a frequent visitor to Paris I fully agree with your advice. Two more from me:
1) Use public transport instead of taxis or rental car. You save a LOT of time and money. If they are on strike? Don't go to Paris that day, period.
2) Explore by following your nose. Especially if you happen to speak at least a little French, you will discover great places, people, restaurants, etc.
Helpful, but way too many ads in this video.
ОтветитьThe biggest mistake is to even go there.
Ответитьwhat a great video travel Europe on my bike alot so got some good tips thanks you
ОтветитьWhat an interesting video. Having been all around France and yearly in Paris I tend to disagree with a couple of points: the big change hotel is always better... I've been in some dumps! Food.... in France great but overpriced and crap in Paris and they cannot manage Indian, Chinese or Mexican. (do they forget garlic?)
ОтветитьI’m French and those are fantastic travel advices if not the best I’ve seen
ОтветитьLove your channel! We live in Portugal and meet friends in Paris regularly, helping them go to the top attractions. Now I want to spend a few weeks outside of Paris.
ОтветитьI lived there for 3 years and you can see Paris in 3 days easyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy 7 days is crazyyyyyyyyy to long, i totally disagree with this, 3 days to 4 days is more than enough. I used to be a tour guide in Paris and 3 days i could show you everything worth seeing and eating. I would stay in a Apartment in Paris , forget the hotels, you get a kitchen, laundry and live like the Parisians do.
ОтветитьThe biggest mistake tourists make is going to paris in the first place, or france for that matter. No better way to waste your time, energy and money and possibly lose your life or end up at the hospital or raped. France used to be interesting to visit 30 years ago. Now it is a rotten dirty dangerous country and unless you are a millionaire, you will not enjoy it (I am French). For a quarter of what you will spend in Paris for a basic holiday, go to Japan and have the best holiday of your life. The country is a thousand times more beautiful than France and you will be safe, nobody will trick you, you will see the most beautiful culture and traditions and enjoy the best hospitality on the planet.
If what you like is western architecture then eastern europe is way cheaper and today way safer than paris or france. Go to Prague or Bucharest and you will have the time of your life. If what you like is hearing people speak french then go to Quebec and if you want Europe, with French like architecture and food and language then Switzerland is the place to go.
Seriously tourists, don't waste your time, money and energy, visiting france, it is so not worth it.
Nice video. While some of these might not be a huge mistake (such as picking a hotel or what clothing to wear. Might not be the worst thing someone can do; but can be too much); but these tips can help save people money, time and actually enjoy their trip more. The best advice no matter where where you are at or going is to always plan everything ahead. Do some research so you will be more prepared and see all the best options available.
ОтветитьParis is probably the most overrated European City. Rome, Amsterdam, Busselles, Madrid and Lisbon are much better. Number twenty in this 25 mistakes should be number one. The French must have huge bladders.
ОтветитьI NEVER understand over packing when travelling, they SELL clothes wherever you go. Just take a pair or two of good comfortable shoes, a lightweight jacket, maybe rainproof, a sweater, a scarf, a hat and comfy trousers. NO back packs but a cross body and nothing flashy. If I need an extra sweater or some t-shirts I buy them where I visit, either cheaper stores or vintage, cities like paris have hundreds of great vintage stores. I bought a new Barbour over waistcoat yesterday in one of these stores for 5 euros, there are great deals to be found. Forget Versailles of the Louvre, there are dozens of small museums, there's the antiques quarter where you get up close to amazing treasures. Go to a flea market, a good way to see vintage culture and spend a great day. So much to see architecturally that costs nothing.
ОтветитьI caught a glimpse of Choucroute Garni, a favourite winter comfort food, a staple of the Paris Brasseries and a dish that's more Teutonic than Gallic, but then again, Alsace is a delightful offspring of both cuisines & cultures...
Ответить25 hints and I didn't disagree with a single one . Fantastic .
ОтветитьFree refills of shite coffee in the US!
ОтветитьEurope is the bomb. Who cares about the USA anymore where unfettered Capitalism makes that place unliveable and third world for most? I "live" in Italy every year from Australia and have no desire to experience anything else but Europe, especially Italy and France. The USA is now a punchline with unhealthy food, no universal healthcare and frankly barbaric. Europe is the future for living intelligently.
