I like how in fellowship of the ring Rivendell was introduced from the valley and in the Hobbit from the mountainous area on the side.

I think the hobbit did rivendell justice.

I love the sound of the elven horn and Elrond with his elf warriors entrance on horses to Rivendell. I wonder where Arwen is, as well as her brothers.

how come the soldiers here wear silver colour armor where as at the start of the first lotr the at the big battle the Elves wear the same armor but different colour

absolute perfection, had tears in my eyes when Bilbo saw Rivendell and we watched him with this soundtrack as well! can't get enough of this scene <3

The animosity between dwarves and elves goes back literally thousands of years, so much so that they literally do not trust each other fully.

I just love the Elven uniform in these scene.

I like the shot when they walk through the statues and Bilbo looks around him. I was hoping for something like that for Lothlorien, my favourite place in Middle Earth. I hope/believe we can see more of it in The Rings of Power at some point, their world building is quite good too.

I have such a strong Ashenvale vibes (WOW) from the soundtrack that plays when Bilbo sees Rivendell.

Plot twist: Elrond actually was offering them insult, but Gandalf lied and saved the day :)

I will never forget the validation of this feeling that I received from my son, when he was a small boy. As I tucked him into bed at night he looked at me and said, “Do you know that Rivendale is just like Heaven Mommy? I can’t wait to go back there.”. ❤️🙏🏼

My jaw hit the floor when I first saw this. Absolutely beautiful.

The dwarves were so unnecessarily aggressive geez. They really thought the returning elves would just attack them after saving their skins out there. So dumb.

It really is very true to the expected reaction a Hobbit such as Bilbo would have upon seeing Rivendel in person for the first time. The sheer beauty of it, the majestic gardening to which Bilbo can easily admire given his own gardening skills, the immeasurable elegance of the rivers, and the scale of the valley itself. Brilliant scene.

They really did try their hardest to make the dwarves as unlikeable as possible didn't they

The way they speak is toned like singing, which gives the scene a wonderful taste and flavour.
I feel sad when I realize that my language cannot be performed in such a way, I am sadder even more knowing that there is no way to see such a masterpiece in my mother tongue.
