If you do not speak English fluently, should never consider this major. Even you have GPA over 3.67, it is still hard to get a job. No one will trust you.

I am a Respiratory Therapist going into Accounting. I love the combination and being able to work in both. I would say that RTs make a bit more than what is in the video, but that was three years ago. A healthcare person can bring great communication skills into the area of accounting. As far as automation replacing accountants, I heard a great quote....Onlly Accountants not using automation will be replaced with accountants that do.

Honestly i hesitated between a master degree in finance and accounting but i ended up picking accounting because its harder and more annoying than finance 😂 so i picked that then will probably do finance after that

Accounting is the language of any business. All business numbers start and end with Accounting. Even Finance cannot do anything w/o the accounting data (financial statements). Do you wanna really understand a business? Accounting. No sugar coating.

Accountant/Auditor here... To the point of AI you can never (like many other things) delete the need for the judgement and fact finding skill of an actual person and experience. Will it help flag suspicious incidences? Yes, but it will always require digging deeper into issues. AI will only make the more skilled jobs in this field easier. Trust me...have no fear in that area.

I chose finance because accounting was too hard

Even if bookkeeping becomes automated, an accountant still has to look into the discrepancies during things like reconciliations. Auditing is another job that would be hard to automate because "auditor judgment" along with meetings, interviews, and presentations are constantly required.

I genuinely don’t understand how auditing can be automated. The whole point of auditing is another human verifies the numbers your automated system spits out.

But you didn’t said that as an accountant you can be also kind of an entrepreneur, that you can make your own bussines by being an accountant for 30+ companies per month👍🏼👍🏼 and you can also have slaves that do the work for you but do not have the master degree and you are the only one that can place a stamp or have the right to sign, while they work you can focus on other bussineses or travel👌🏼👌🏼

Is it still good even if its a BSBA degree? Or a bachelor’s in business administration with a focus on accounting? That’s the only kind my school offers.

I am currently a masters of finance (STEM) student, set to graduate in May 2023. I completed my undergrad in Accounting in May 2022.

I enrolled in my masters program to reach 150 credit hours and become CPA eligible. To anyone considering an Accounting degree, please note that it is extremely advisable to reach 150 credit hours. Being CPA eligible and showing interest to become a CPA is extremely important to a lot of companies in USA.

I am an international student from Pakistan and my friend who is also an international student from a different country, are both aspiring accountants. My friend graduated with 120 credit hours and got a full time job for $50,000 per year. I on the other hand, have a full time job lined up after graduation for $72,000 and benefits. This difference can be attributed towards the fact that I am CPA eligible.

It’s not important to have a CPA certification, but it certainly sets you up for success. I am a pessimist, so I always think “I am not the smartest and the most capable person in the labour market, therefore I need to work twice as hard as all the others to be able to succeed”. Hence, I would suggest everyone to be on the safe side and work towards the cpa.

The business field is ruled by ego maniac with crazy ambitions. There no way in hell they would let their empire be auto. All this fields will always be 👁👁 by humans evens if an AI does something a person will be there just cause

My profession for 30 years next year. I was persuaded by my boss - our former staff training manager. I started with my Associates & then Bachelor's & then to MBA. I have moved from boring Auditing to Consulting & stint in Taxation. I later went back to get a Risk Management Degree as I wanted to add to my skills. I found if I had chosen Economics to achieve Risk Management only, I would have missed out on the fundamentals training through work experience in various facets.

Can I try to study accounting(maybe a diploma or bachelor's) even though I am a teacher/lecturer? Just want to try accounting since I never study account subject, but I do study Maths, Additional Maths, Economics, and Statistics subjects in my secondary and primary school and also my master's. I had a Bachelor of English with Communication, a Master of TESL, and recently a diploma of education. Will it be too late for me to study after age 30 as I am currently at the age of 30? Cpa is a good career if you major in accounting. 5 years out of school you can make 100k and a LOT more than that if you eventually become a partner
