The redstone engine doesn't sound like it should need any kind of expendable fuel, does it just run off of a redstone block or something and just keep going? The combustion engine obviously is the faster option (mining speed is equivalent to a diamond pickaxe with efficiency) but daisychaining the engines off of each other into the quarry seems like the solution to the speed issues with redstone engines.

The wood pipe is not needed also use the storage drawer mod for cobblestone, gravel, dirt, andesite, granite, diorite and if your feeling fancy you could use them for the ores

Tutorial is great and all but… i prefer watching iBallisticsquid build it in Race To The Moon. Also if you want to effectively remove a large pool of water, use a sponge because it pained me to see you trying to remove an infinite water source with a bucket.

btw you should put in water where the quarry mines so if it hits lava you can get obsidian
