There were two tools mentioned by Tim for writing. The first Evernote, does anyone know the second? I haven’t been able to find it again.

I do all my reading, writing, and research late at night, because I know that the world is not expecting anything of me in those hours of the day. Everyone else is asleep, and my anxiety goes down to a level that allows me to open my mind and clear my head enough to articulate my spirit.

RE: Maui Nui venison:
Though i lived on Maui several months at a time, and of course visited Molokai , and lived on other Hawaiian Islands, i had given no attention to the introduction of this invasive species.
Ungulates dramatically increase their reproduction in response to predation, and the Maui Nui experiment may or may not be studied in this light, but is the best idea for animal protein I've encountered.

There are no predators in the island chain other than the two small ones, feral domestic cats and mongoose, which wrought devastation on island bird species not adapted to them.
The introduced Axis Deer population has continued its ecological release, and Maui Niu venison only began in about 2015.

The Chital, Cervus Axis axis, would be best strongly suppressed on Maui and Molokai, as the forests prevent extirpation;
Nowhere else would i suggest that burgeoning human populations engage in significant predation, for obvious reasons of our own extirpations of entire living systems.

And now on to the extensive interview . . .

Tim is 100% correct. That podcast of his with Debbie Millman where they discussed child abuse was the best, most remarkable podcast he had ever put out. Not an easy listen but very important. Huge respects to Tim.

My only complaint with interviews like these, is a lot of what's suggested, can only be effected by people with a lot of money and/or free time. Folks with tight budgets, families, jobs, school, etc., just don't have the financial nor schedule bandwidth to accomplish what's suggested. Now, the counter argument to this is, neither did Tim, in the beginning. He made his money, and made the time. But for most adults, they just aren't going to have the available resources.

I had extraordinary difficulty following and understanding much of the early parts of this conversation. I literally couldn’t understand Ferriss’s vocabulary nor his pronunciation of words. After the first eleven minutes, I was ready to quit. I didn’t. I listened to all of it and am very glad I did. I especially want to thank Ferriss for his personal life-story honesty and willingness to be vulnerable on such a large public platform.

Social media stuff. I find more than 30 seconds on any of it so offensive, boring and annoying. I really loathe it. I have never had instagram, tiktok, twitter or any of them on my phone nor would I ever want to. I don’t even like it when friends send me stuff on those platforms wanting me to look at it. Is it age related? I am well past 50…

Many of these podcasts discussing drugs for helping drug and alcohol addicts - and I am one, with 38 years clean and sober, no relapses - makes me think of something I heard in a 12-step meeting once: “Using something I can’t control to fix something I can’t control.” For me, that’s insanity.

Tim Ferriss lost me in the first eleven minutes. Did not understand a quarter of the words he used, maybe half. I am talking vocabulary here and I have a very good vocabulary. But for me, he wasn’t speaking an English language that I know. I wonder if he can translate what he says into ordinary speak? Simplify. Assume we may not know what he is talking about at all, and go from there. I am giving him eleven more minutes, and if I am still totally lost, I’ll move on to another podcast. Which is too bad, because I’d like to understand him. It’s also pronunciation. Is he saying “What are nerves doing?” Or “Nerds?” I have no idea.

I tried low carb diet and my fat % went dangerously low (13%). Anxiety increased, mental stability was not apparent. I started included basmati rice 5 x per week in my diet and gained only 2kg in 6 months but only moving body fat % to 14%. , without much exercise (deliberately avoiding exercise so I could gain fat). I find this information is mostly designed for American health improvements and might not be appropriate world wide, and I feel that should start to be part of the published studies - what nationalities and blood types are being evaluated, so that the information is thorough and well researched for variables. I feel this is where much of the research is falling short. For someone to say do not eat fruit, is in my opinion, an unhealthy piece of advice. Carbs are NOT bad. We need not go to these kinds of extremes to be healthy. Balance is better.

I work with one now. She managed to manipulate 2 days work and does nothing for 3. Then I cover the rest of her workload. She also uses weaponized incompetence so now I’m the one that does all of the filing and other duties. My boss know not to even ask her so just get me to do it. They are not team players with no empathy or remorse. They take and take and push the boundaries so far that they are doing no work.

I had fallen asleep while this video must've autoplayed and his cock punch story got incorporated into my dream. I was sitting next to a guy who I'd met in art school 10 years ago (not in real life, just in my dream), and I was flipping through his sketchbook and feeling impressed at how well he'd improved. Even though he was not the one talking, I understood that it was his story and the sketchbook was the visual detail of it which I saw come to life right in front of me with colorful neurons magnetizing toward each other as they rose toward another planet then exploded against each other (that was the cock punch in my dream). Then I saw a woman with frazzled hair and purple checkered pajama pants leap into a different dimension, land sitting style on a bridge then bent back and allowed herself to fall off into eternity. Then I went on a long tour with the guy speaking because he had recruited me to be part of his team, and he was going to help me franchise my business as part of his own franchise. I have no idea if my dream matched up with what he was actually saying on this podcast, but this was one of the most colorful, visually detailed and long historied dreams I've ever had.

I brought two of my friends to sleep in nature, in two different occasions (one sleeping directly on the ground and one sleeping in the hammock). They both have problem falling asleep at home. They told me they tried everything.
When in nature they felt asleep easily, and they reported a perfect sleep.
Nature has a powerful effect on us, it's our habitat, we're evolved into the wild. We're not adapted to cities. It's lovely to hear your podcasts.

I didn't like this podcast as much as others because I felt that Dr. Huberman was blowing Mr. Ferriss out of proportion. I also disliked some of Mr. Ferriss' comments, especially that he at times did not provide a real knowledge base for his conclusions and further assumptions. I personally would not recommend this one.
