if i buy regional train tickets, do i need to check-in?

FYI Mine was a much smaller ticket. You insert it into the slot and it says "align to the left". When you do so it goes green, then red, and has a little hole punch. Good luck!

Good to know after I bought tickets rode to Lago di Como and back and I didn’t know how (or that I need to) validate my tickets before boarding.

How can we identify that which are the tickets should be validated, because some tickets dont need validity !! How can we find that ?!
