Do you think that be a car mechanic in 10 will be still worth something or it will be no work
ОтветитьFixing people's cars sucks. Yelling, cussing, smoking pot throughout the day is pretty good though.
ОтветитьGreat video brother!!!
ОтветитьEVs are a total joke.
ОтветитьBS on the 6 figures. Nobody is making 6 figures. It’s a 50k job. National average is 42k. As far as friendships. 90 precent of the guys you work with are back stabbing rednecks that throw you under the bus so they can get you commission.
ОтветитьThere is absolutely no reason to become a mechanic. I have been doing it for 27 years, looking for my way out. I have been ASE master certified so I am not a chump.
Ответить40 years working at Mercedes inde. Shop. Love working on cars but the most anybody makes around here is about 60k! And we are busy all the time!. Endless difficult diagnostic work that just does not pay!
ОтветитьGuys a I got serious question, I’m really considering taking a college course to be a vehicle technician but I’m put off the idea because of how we are all heading towards electric cars. What do you think ? Is it worth it? Could u change my mind and give me info that would give me a new perspective
ОтветитьI took some Toyota T10 classes in Jr College back in the day when rice burners were cool. I did it as a hobby because all my friends were in to racing. Im not a pro by any means but knowing how to wrench on cars has been an invaluable skill that until i use to save money. Especially in today's inflated car market. I keep my old beaters running as long as i can😂
ОтветитьStarted at Mercedes 4 months ago and keep your video going love them
ОтветитьI don’t think I’ve used jack stands in 10 years while working as a dealer tech, now I just pay my former coworkers to fix my cars since I make way more money after changing careers. 😂
ОтветитьDo you recommend the Honda pact ? I live in Miami and the course last 2 years , can I work for Honda before I finish the school ?
ОтветитьI'm glad to hear that you make 6 figures. My thinking is that if a 6 figure paycheck is not possible then go look for another industry that will pay out over 6 figures. And if you're looking for a career you have to consider how well that industry pays or if you have an idea for ownership. Unless you are complacent individual.
ОтветитьTheres also alot of tire shops or auto centers that have a mechanic or 2 there
ОтветитьDo you think it would pay more to do auto collision repair or be a regular mechanic
Ответитьyes to all that i am glad to see a young dude with the right attitude to do well i started in 76 auto trade school mostly to fix my old car pretty soon i was working at a gas station made a decent honest living. had lots of hot rods and muscle cars. it was a gas back then. stuff was easy to fix and it stayed fixed. i retired in 2015. still got my 86 buick grand national.
ОтветитьHD TandT mechanic ALL the way. Automotive is trash pay for the stress. HD TandT Journeyman is good enough pay with less stress than auto. With the only real trade off being everything is a wee bit heavier lol
Ответить67 year old retired GM dealer tech as of 2019. ASE Master tech with diesel and L1 additional. worked at 6 different dealerships through my career. Reasons for having a bad opinion of auto mechanical field is low pay, constant stress, no appreciation, hazard filled work environment, extreme noise damaging hearing, chemicals everywhere, rigged payment system, high insurance cost. It was fun back in the 1970's but you are doing engineer work these days for fast food wages. I programmed computer modules, electrical, drivability, brakes, alignments, tuneups, diagnostics for everything. It wasn't worth it. Some of my friends have had an early death because of it. The smart ones switched careers 20 years ago. I still fix imaginary vehicles in my sleep. That truly sucks. I survived and have never been happier in my retirement. My advice, don't do it! Pick a different field.
ОтветитьThe shop drama is worst part
ОтветитьYou a Native bro?
ОтветитьMy brotha I been watching your videos for a while now, I worked in a mom and pop shop and it was a bad experience I kept watching your videos cause it motivated me to keep my dream going thankyou for inspiring new/old mechanics/Techs
ОтветитьInspirational videos love the content. I have over 5 years experience as a DIY auto mechanic. Im trying to get my foot in the door for an opportunity change. Hopefully the knowledge I've learned will guide me in the direction especially not being on the books.
ОтветитьLmao be honest, I been a tech for 10 years I’m doing good. But don’t sell a dream. In the dealer there is a lot of warranty work. If you can’t flag your hours with warranty work. Then this is not for you!
ОтветитьGreat Vid, great motivation NEEDED that! Great ta know a Guy that knows a Guy lol
ОтветитьThe EV was never a viable option. That's going to become painfully apparent in the coming years.
ОтветитьEvery job isn't for everyone
ОтветитьIs the mechanic Salary good enough to provide for your self?
ОтветитьMechanics will be in more demand as less people will be able to afford new cars and want to maintain their current car.
ОтветитьSure you can make good money, but how much do you spend on tools each year?
ОтветитьWho makes more… car mechanics or car salesman?
ОтветитьGood points. Couple I didn’t agree with but a few I did. Great job 👏 Brother 🍻
ОтветитьWell I finally got in at a spot I’m happy with as a trailer tech. Super excited to start!!!
ОтветитьBeing a mechanic sucks. Flat rate is a scam for the mechanic
ОтветитьI want be a mechanic I know I’m going make it .
ОтветитьI left the dealer 15 years ago and still talk to some of the guys .Those were good times
ОтветитьLove being a tech for more than 15 years. Doing stuff the right way pays off. Regards.
ОтветитьI think another reason to become a mechanic is to have a strong urge to fit in with a particular posse. Oh wait, that's literally every job you go to. 🙄🤦
ОтветитьBeen an auto tech for 3 years, but seem to struggle just to hit 40 hours a week consistently .. any advice on whats going on or what i can do? Been working at subaru for about a year and a half i know the cars well but still seem to struggle to hit 40hrs. Currently making mid 20s an hr in florida no ase. Been doing quite a bit of heavy line lately. I know its a slow process to learn. Any loop holes for getting a guarantee in the dealership world ? Or should i roll my toolbox out to another shop. Ive also worked at 3 other shops and struggled at all 3 to make 40 hrs a week. i see all these techs clearing 60hrs+ weekly
ОтветитьIs 27 too old to start this career I’m thinking about doing tech school soon
ОтветитьJust started school beginning of January hopefully can become ASE certified honestly enjoy cars and I can see it being a stable careers
ОтветитьHave you met people being diabetic? I just got diagnosed with it even tho I’m 22 years old and I’m not sure being a mechanic any more
ОтветитьHow did you become a mechanic?
ОтветитьBro where’s your fleet tech video? I just got a job though the city I live in being fleet tech and wanted to watch it again
ОтветитьI'm a mechanic because of something my grandfather said. He said "don't do what you want, do what your good at" I'm a natural skilled mechanic, I never struggled developing those skills.
If I did what I really wanted, I'd be a bartender and cook.
Not saying I hate being a mechanic, but I'm a way better mechanic then a cook.
I am debating on going into this trade but I am on the fence cause I am also looking into HVAC, I love working on my own cars as a hobby but I don’t know if I would like it as a career… working out of my home though and being my own boss is the ultimate goal though if I go in either trade so… I don’t know which one would be better for me?…what do you think I should do?… any wise advice? By the way love your channel and content keep it up brother.
ОтветитьI can see myself working on cars every single day with happiness ,always trying to crack up the brain and go through the sh*t to solve the puzzle and be blessed with the satisfaction
ОтветитьThank you for this encouragement 😢❤
I will keep up the good work and achieve my dreams 🎉
Hi I started to watch your videos and feel a little more relaxed, but still nervous. Because I'm going to Toyota to work there but I'm feeling anxious because what if I mess up, what if the customer gets mad at me, what if I never live the expectations for my bosses, etc. The anxiety and pressure is building up inside me and I don't know what to do 😰
Ответитьpeople who speak down and discourage people from being mechanic usually have no ase certifications or like one or two, so they don’t get paid as much. That’s literally the ticket to making more bred at the dealer ship.
