Google play store more trustworthy than fdroid? There are plenty of apps there that are neither secure, nor privacy friendly - and closed source. Blocking side-loading is not the solution either.
"If you're using Google services..." or if it uses you for the most part.

I use Brave Browser the few times I look something up on my Android 7 phone. Stay away from chinese phones since you never know if they did not build some backdoor in. I use an Motorola E4 unlocked. I switched off or uninstalled all gps, data and the like and switch WiFi only on when needed. I know that my home ISP has running on their server side an Antivirus software so it protects us from malware. I on my side run allways on an VPN which has as well an Antivirus filter built in and other filters. Actually in modern times I never got an Virus neighter on any of my devices including Windows 11 desktop PC, tablets and smartphones. Most older Androids will never get any updates or patches but as long as the Play Store works you should be safe if your Apps are only from the Play Store and you limit your web browsing to a few trusted sites.
Chinese branded phones and software is to be avoided at all costs since some chinese browsers are allmost not to delete. That means they spy on you.

I need something! Someone spies on my phone. I frequent buy/sell websites. When I even put an obscure item on my likes list, soon after someone will buy that item I liked. It might already be on the likes list of a few users before I put it on mine, but then the vultures come in and buy it. Likes lists aren't public. They are hidden from other users' views. That means people are using sneaky, hacky ways to search likes lists. Like I said, people know I liked that item, and they swoop in and buy it. I just know i am hacked. I don't like the wimpy security apps in the Google Play store. I need something highly intelligent that will sniff out the users who are tracking me. Something highly futuristic and super intelligent.

Thanks for all this safety tips because I love Samsung but I don't feel safe because most of my friends see their iPhone to be superior

I don't recommend setting up fingerprint or face unlock. If someone (like the police) takes your phone, they can just point it at you and the phone unlocks.

Is there any way to locate a lost phone using it's IMEI number if internet and gps is disabled on that phone? Like some govt. Agencies do?

Google backups are now E2E encrypted. Also, as far as I know Smart Lock cannot use Bluetooth devices as a second factor, it only keeps the phone unlocked when nearby, so it's actually a security risk.

I have an Honor 6x, it doesnt seem to have a official lineage os version. Nor does the brand give any bootloader code. I was very interested in using Lineage, as i hate EMUI.
What do you think is my best available option?
