I found that the latest Cinnamon Linux Mint to be better with machines shipped with anything under Windows 10. With newer hardware, I have found Ubuntu 22.04 to be better. This was most apparent with my former Asus AMD 5500U powered laptop which didn't render the display correctly (fuzzy fonts etc) under Linux Mint 20.3 with the 5.11 kernel (graphics wouldn't load with kernel 5.4); whereas, Ubuntu 22.04 worked nicely -- keyboard backlight, power management, suspension, display quality etc. So, it really depends on your hardware... older hardware tends to like Mint better.

Better still for fans of Unity use Ubuntu Unity official flavour 22.10

Installed this the other day, when distro hopping, and had problems with it, which required dropping into the terminal. Not ideal when it was a fresh install. Had a better experience with Linux Mint, Linux Lite etc. after initial installs. Have now installed ChromeOS Flex to try and it runs very smoothly, though it does tie you into Google's ecosystem.
