Today, I visited her concert in Vienna . It was 🔥🔥🔥

Alma has to do a lot of work to put her ideas on paper. Mozart Schubert Mendelssohn and many others wrote with great fluency. Beethoven had great difficulty... all valid genius she is one of them...great fortune to you. ❤❤❤

Just lovely to see and hear Alma showing what a lovely person she is (My parents are amateurs :) ) and to hear how adult she already is in her mind without losing the 'being a child' period.

Great to know that there are still young people that love classical music and are able to create that music in a very beautiful way.

Her creativity, knowledge, practice and dedication are truly incomprehensible. She plays like a master in their sunset years. She is easily one of the preeminent musical minds of the early 2000s.
The real question, is how she will share it with us.

These piano variations are very influenced by Mozart, not surprising. Quite charming. Theme and variations. I knew it! They would play the Bach Double for Violin, and so they did! The host/violinist is very talented, too. An interesting program.

It is wonderful to have this record of this stage of the creation of 'Cinderella' at the point of its first performance. This was at the deathbed of Alma's beloved grandmother Michal Deutscher (1945-2015) to whom the opera was dedicated, and who managed to hear the completed opera while she was still alive. Soon after came that wonderful studio production in Israel.

Since then, we have the Baumgarten/Kittsee version from 2016, the San José version from 2017. the Vienna State Opera Children's Version from 2018 and the Salzburg Version, listed for its opening night in January 2021 (depending on Corona lockdown, which took out its December performances).

I must say that the purity of the opera at this early stage was, if anything, better than the later versions when well-meaning adults got at it and made it more conventionally modern. I like particularly the words of 'Up in the Sky' here "flocks of white geese on their way to warmer lands".

It is very hard for all musicians right now, and particularly for Alma in 2021, about to turn 16, but deprived of opportunities right now to develop her talents. She is going through a Strauss phase, where everything becomes a Viennese waltz (although her latest released composition, a Christmas carol, was lifted from a Bach prelude), but surely that will pass and she will do all sorts of other things again soon. She could atrophy locked down in her current home in Vienna, so I hope that as soon as this virus is beaten, Alma can be showered with commissions and challenges, so she can pick up in her mature years what we see so clearly in this ten-year-old.

In the meantime, she has found a publisher at long last, and a sheet music album of her piano music released on CD in 2019 'From my Book of Melodies' is coming out tomorrow, and I cannot wait to try them out on my piano at home.
