Al, I'll be honest...my heart said don't watch my brain said get over yourself! I did and am crying as I type. All that said, your editing was perfect and I certainly am so glad I watched. Spots didn't suffer and Mrs Pig didn't have a care in the world. This was beautiful and literally just right! You were an amazing steward of their lives and now they simply repay your gift. We are meat eating beings. I personally believe it's what God intended. What you've done was show how those two things can be done with grace, kindness and extreme care! The poem was also beautiful and the part about "us" not becoming the "hogs" speaks volumes to what we have become as a society and what you're NOT allowing for you and your family. You are being intentional and your efforts prove it! This was very well done. Very well presented. I'm very grateful you decided to share as much as you did. The sound of the shot was plenty. And I'm not a drinker at all but I'm certain I'd have hit that bottle!!! Hand Hewn Farms...you are truly AWESOME and an absolute gift to the community. Thank you all!
God Bless ~Lisa
Better to hoist animal up to help it bleed out.
ОтветитьPig would have rather lived.
ОтветитьFYI the pig is dead everything following them sitting on the pig. Is only because the nerves are making it spaz. The noises are also spazing. It was a sudden and quick death. The most human way to kill a pig. They did a great job absolutely outstanding
ОтветитьWhy the black pig first?
ОтветитьDid I hear that man say he doesn't believe pigs have consciousness? I'm watching this because I plan to dispatch my pigs myself, but if you raise pigs and don't believe they have a consciousness, you're lying to yourself to make yourself feel better. I've seen fear, curiosity, memory, and concern in my pigs. It's quite obvious they are conscious. I do appreciate the video, though, and I hope I heard that part wrong.
ОтветитьUmm Jim it's still moving
ОтветитьExtremely humane and respectful dispatch of this pig. No suffering. Beautiful prayer. Nice job guys.
ОтветитьYou talk too much.
ОтветитьThe best way I've seen . I don't like the sledge hammer
ОтветитьI grew up around people raising hogs to kill for food.
The people I knew and I raised them to kill in November so we could cure them for winter and to last a year.
Oh what just happened to my brother. Says next NO THATS NOT WHAT THE PIG IS THINKING. He can read a pigs mind now
Ответитьthe other one is wondering if he will be back
ОтветитьJust shoot them already! And you need to have better knife skills. Love how the other pig just stood there. Pigs are so stupid. And disgusting. But taste great!
ОтветитьFun prep.
ОтветитьThere is so much more respect and honour in culling and animal on the home stead or in the wild then driving to the store and buying packages of meat from penned animals that are under stress their whole lives and never feel the love and care of a human. I'm very much for learning properly to cull and harvest. I think if we all had to do this at least once as the only way to gain meat lots of people wouldn't eat meat and only those that are fit to do so would countiue to and the annual numbers of meat consumption would greatly drop!
ОтветитьGreat video,thank you, well done.
ОтветитьHow is this humanely when you're shooting them infront of each other? Tf
ОтветитьGotta get that bacon
ОтветитьLmao just do it for gods sake
ОтветитьAmericans are incredibly soft
Ответитьthank god for thes hogs amen
ОтветитьWHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF TRYING TO STIR AN SAVE THE BLOOD FROM THE PIG????????????
ОтветитьPeople act like a pig would have the same psychological response a human would have to witnessing a murder but they just don't. Vegans especially have this horrible habit of pushing human characteristics onto animals without actually knowing about said animal and how they behave.
ОтветитьIs that pig going to be ok?
ОтветитьThe saddest thing i have watched was a cow getting harvest the person that did it oppened it's neck and let it stumble around it was a sad sigh i beleive the best way to do it is in a respectful and fast way preventing suffering.
ОтветитьThat other pig standing there like hey what’s up guys as there cutting into the other one was some dark humor
ОтветитьNow this is the right way to kill a animal just shooting it giving it a painless death
ОтветитьNice way to end just sad for the other pig seeing his friend shot by the people it trust but better than boiled alive. I couldn't do it prob bc of the bond you have with the animal after time
ОтветитьSure beats the slaughter house.
ОтветитьThank you for not making the pig suffer
ОтветитьMy boyfriend does a lot of this he says when you stick the hole you should stick it where the throat is all into the middle of the two shoulders in front at an angle that's where the hogs heart is he will bleed a lot better also the front shoulder you can stick it at an angle like you're going to the other shoulder right in the middle of the two shoulders is where his heart is that's what you want to hit and get away from the home you want to stick it one time and he will bleed real good when the hog kicks he will bleed even better.
ОтветитьI wish this is how slaughter houses kill pigs, fast and no pain.
ОтветитьLike how the pig is licking the other pigs blood but it's sad that its friend died probably smelling it
Ответитьmy pigs, kune kune, do get depressed when i harvest one of them. they do not start trying to eat their kin
ОтветитьTHANK GOD FOR ISLAM ☪️
ОтветитьOmg
ОтветитьYou need to show the exact shot placement. And the anatomy of the carotid.
ОтветитьImagine being that innocent pig, live just to get shot
ОтветитьThe other pig must've been so confused, it acted like nothing happened and just walked around
ОтветитьFor some odd reason I enjoy watching animals being shot and killed.
ОтветитьNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
ОтветитьWell i think this is the better way to put them down
They die in a second and don't even feel pain
A quick dead and a lot of meat
The other pig is just casually walking around his dead buddy. Lol
ОтветитьGreat job guys. Respectful and Humane harvest.
Ответитьmy daughter and her husband raise chickens and pigs for food; they always dispatch their own animals for just the reasons you share. Less stress makes for a better ending for the animal as well as better tasting meat which is the point. Homesteading isn't pet keeping; if you don't like the process go vegetarian.
Ответитьimagine if you were that pig
