Man Visual Basic takes me back. Learned how to program in Basic and VB6 in HS (Wasn't all that good at it) and trying to program at home on a pirated copy of VB6 that crashed often. I did have a course on it in tech school (still not all that great with it then).

there are any chance to get this sw? it cant be downloaded from the original site, its for donation only but the donation link throw an error and for what i read from forums the developer passed away sadly so....

I didnt follow it completely. I just reinstalled without checking any boxes like you said. Then installed SP6. i didnt move around any files or register anything. It worked for me. Thanks a bunch

I have paid and can not get a copy of the installer app you mention. The site says that the owner died in 2021 and yet they are still taking donations without supplying the app. I would welcome a copy as I have paid and can supply the paypal transaction details for proof!!

Christ sake, to this day it astounds me how many niche/nuanced interactions one has to learn to put up with daily driving windows, especially older versions. And often times we acquire these "skillsets" without even noticing. It just becomes a force of habit learn how to cope with the jank.

Eventually you reach a windows zen master state, encountering issues with the mindset "if at first it doesn't succeed, begin troubleshooting by manually iterating over every possible permutation of settings, starting with administrator/compatibility mode and whittling your way down to UAC/regedit/command line&batch files. If all else fails, do something completely random an unexpected.
Why not? Windows is doing that to YOU anyway.

My Win 10 solution was...
1) Install vb6 (will hang at the back end)
2) re-install vb6 from the same source (untick selections and proceed)
3) install vb6sp6B
Done.

In the step which we make the fix, there isn't the setup folder in VB98. Why ? How can I get it ?

My company still runs visual basic 6... I laughed when I first learned that (I used to use it extensively back in the day) but seeing the steps you have to go through to continue to use it today is even more hilarious.
